With unyielding determination and rock-solid songs, this band is intent on making it in the music business.

It was only last year that U:CODIA was born. Within such a short timespan, this band already has already released an EP on iTunes that is available for purchase worldwide, as well as performing countless gigs across New South Wales. They now enter the opening rounds of competition for Emergenza Festival, hoping to gain international exposure, and ultimately to win the final prize. There is much to be said about their music; rich vocals paired with sick guitar riffs, U:CODIA exemplifies rock music. Traces of influences such as Foo Fighters, U2, and 30 Seconds to Mars can be heard in U:CODIA’s melodic tunes.

Bio

"They say hindsight is a beautiful thing, but where's the hope in the death of dreams..." - this is the anthem creating a rumble in the crust beneath our feet. Ladies and gentlemen, put your ears to the ground! A new cadence is rising from the underbelly of Australia’s music venues. Sydney based alternative rock quartet U:CODIA have landed, and they are here to deliver.

It is only 2 years since this mighty foursome was born, but in a very short space of time, the band have not only crafted an impressive set of rock-solid songs, they have also released their debut EP to iTunes and CD, played numerous shows across 3 states, and placed 5th in the National Final of the Emergenza Global Battle of the Bands at the end of 2013. Lead vocalist, Josh Stanes says, “We’re not a band who likes to do things in half measures. We aim to apply the motto “What is excellence at one level, is mediocrity at the next”, to everything we do.” The recent release of their new single ‘Run’ is testament to this. Recorded and mixed by Josh Telford (Daniel Johns, New Empire, The Butterfly Effect) at Inhouse Sound, Australia and mastered by Andy VanDette (Beastie Boys, David Bowie, Dream Theater) at Engine Room Audio, New York; ‘Run’ is a powerhouse, riff-driven rock tune that offers a nod to several of their influences including Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds To Mars, Tool and U2.

Yet, there is something signature about their sound that makes this band unique. These rockers bring a fresh vibe to the table. On first listen, it becomes very apparent the sheer determination these four men have in making their mark, and their live shows only confirm this. With a high-octane set, U:CODIA take to the stage with a relentless energy and passion that truly sets them apart. As a band who should be considered still in its infancy, there is a maturity about their sound and stage presence that makes them appear to have been a unit for much longer than they actually have. Positive reports of their live performances abound. It has been said on several occasions that something changes in the atmosphere of the room when they begin to play.

With their eyes fixed firmly on expanding further interstate and growing their fan base in 2014, the boys are embarking on planning their first official East Coast tour running from Brisbane to Melbourne over the December/January holiday season. So watch this space and expect much more to come from their corner of the world. U:CODIA are set to engrave their name on the Australian music scene and beyond.
