"GobbleStock Review"

Gobblestock 05: I had a killer time that night down at Coyote's. Whiskey and rock n roll! Yeah. I got there early enough to see Ugly rock out. They were as entertaining as ever, as they wooed the crowd with their different onstage behavior. Frontman Geo Von Tuebel must have part chimpanzee in his blood, because every time I see them, he's all over the room climbing amps, bars, tables or anything he can that won't fall over. This time, he climbed onto the PA and had the whole venue watching his acrobatics/hyperness. Of course the best song was "Sex, Drugs and Rock `n' Roll." `Great job' to Ugly for a good fun set. - Louisville Music News: Eddie Metal

Former OUTSPOKEN Members Launch New Project - Nov. 24, 2004

Former members of the Lava/Atlantic "post-grunge alternative metal" recording artists OUTSPOKEN — Shaun Kennedy (guitar), Kevin McCreery (guitar), Donnie Highland (drums) and Frank Green (bass) — have teamed up with singer Geo Teubl (ex-BRIDGE) in an as-yet-unnamed new band.

Teubl and the rest of the band met while on tour with OUTSPOKEN supporting their record "Bitter Shovel", which was released in February 2003. Personal problems between the members of OUTSPOKEN and their singer created a rift in the group's ranks and culminated in the band splitting up after their last show on Christmas 2003. Since the breakup, McCreery has toured with TANTRIC as a second guitarist and has recently taped a series of guitar instructional videos for Rock House Method. As well as being a Peavey endorser, Teubl was frontman for the Detroit-based band BRIDGE for three years. The band released a CD, entitled "Blown Away", and toured nationwide before disbanding.

look out for the debut record for release in March of 2006

Rising from the ashes of two very promising bands from the near past, Outspoken (Lava/Atlantic) & Bridge (Detroit), UGLY has no ulterior motives. It is what it is. And that’s just a rock and roll band...with one mission... To be the biggest rock and roll band in the world. If you're a fan of the party rock bands of the 80's, you'll love Ugly. Ugly has nothing in mind except to play good, real arena rock n roll and put the “Art” back in Party! Ugly is made up former Outspoken(Lava/Atlantic) members Donnie Highland (drums), Frank Green (bass guitar)and Kevin McCreery (guitar, also currently a touring member of Louisville's Tantric (Maverick/Warner Reprise) and outrageous frontman Geo Teubl formerly of the Detroit band "Bridge". The members of this band met at The Agora in Cleveland while Outspoken toured in the winter of 2003. A fight in the parking lot between Frank and Geo ensued. Thus setting into motion what is now unstoppable. Utter chaos in each member’s lives crystallized what they each wanted to do with the talents they had. So, using this wave of negative energy, Ugly have transformed it into a tsunami of positive rock and roll electricity, that must be seen live to believe. Michael Lutz (Brownsville Station & Ted Nugent) tapped into this fuse box in the winter of 2005 and caught every last spark in all its glory on 2” analog tape at Tazmania Studios in Ann Arbor, Michigan. All tracks were recorded live in the studio with the help of a mountain of beer, wine, Southern Comfort and attitude. No cut and paste cookie cutter chorus’ here. This is music to be heard exactly as it happened. Just a moment in our time. Make no mistake about it, this is Ugly.

Doug Podell pd WRIF-Detroit "rock and roll the way it was meant to be played".

Charlie Steele pd WTFX- Louisville "I've been waiting for a band like this for 12 years !!!!!!"

Tony labrie-pd-Banana radio Flint "this band should come with a napkin after you see them play!"

our motto:
we want to throw the worlds biggest party and NOT have to clean up after it!
