Biography

Formed in Cork in early 2007, Ugly Beautiful are a trio made up of Kieran (guitars, vocals) Mick (bass), Michal (drums). Having gigged heavily around Cork City and County ... from Cyprus Avenue to De Barras to Bantry.. they recorded and released their first EP (Downtown rated it 4 Stars) on iTunes and various other online stores in late June 2007.

Their music, which has been variously been described as a mix of Pearl Jam, Fugazi, the Pumpkins, Tool and a young Stephen Malkmus, comes from the blend of Cork boys on guitars and vocals with Polish drummer... on drums!

With the departure of Ronan, their original bass player, in early 2008 the band have moved on from their EP recordings and have recently written and are working on a number of new songs to be recorded in the summer of 2008 for a full length album. Heavy gigging and sweating to follow

Set List

Typical set list is mainly new material, with one or two old songs, and quite often a new song thrown in ... most recently we've been playing 8 to 10 songs (45 minutes to an hour) as we have mainly been headlining gigs. We have been known to play a cover now and then.
An example of a set list would be: Is that alright; Paradise; Never Stop; Hundred To One; Instrumental; Been a Son (Nirvana); Flying; New Sun; Will it Ever be Enough; Weekend.
