Not many emcees can lead a band in 6/8. Meet Doron Lev. Emcee, lyricist, drummer. With a rugged and old school approach to making tracks from scratch, Doron brings breath control and finesse back to the art of spitting. He can also play drums at the same time. Just ask; then sit back in amazement.

Biography

Doron Lev has been the secret weapon of many musical projects around NYC. In addition to gigging as a drummer, he is constantly showing up as a featured artist on a lot of the underground hip hop that happens in the city as well as supplying the back-beat for most of the Words open mic events that have taken place at Nuyorican over the last year or two.
Doron Lev has also set out on an ambitious project to create a freshman album from scratch, laying down almost all of the beats himself on a drum set. To date, he is the only emcee known to rock the mic and play the drums consistently at the same time. With this kind of skill, you might think that one of his two strengths might suffer, but he is one of the strongest and gnarliest emcees out there and his drumming skills are studio quality.
UGLYBRAINE is both the name of his freshman project and the name of his rotating band versed in Jazz, Reggae, Soul and Funk coming together for the love of hip hop.
