Biography

Ultrafine is a high energy band gelling fresh modern electro pop with smooth organic grooves resulting in unforgettable performances with a wide soundscape; from powerful dance tracks to luscious vibefull downtempo grooves.

Ultrafine was the uncanny culmination of 3 diverse musical currents. Living in New York City, through fortune and happenstance, 3 strangers met. From a first rehearsal that produced the song "Chase me", to a fruition of songs; Ultrafine has gone from a curious experiment to a prolific gigging band.

Alvin van der Kuech - Programmer, Engineer, Beat Creator and Keyboardist lays a bedrock of toxic textures & rhythms. While Lee Farber, world-class percussionist/drummer, is both the rhythmic back bone and a contributing songwriter, who has worked with artists such as Gary Lucas & Princess Superstar.

The chemistry exploded when Beth Bartley, sultry pop songstress completed the circle. Part 50's pinup, part post modern New York chic, Beth's singing is informed by classic cabaret aesthetics, whereas her lyrics are minimalistic and piercing. “Consider yourself lucky if you get to hear Beth Bartley sing” - Chip Defaa (New York Post)

As a latest addition, bassist Mat Fieldes (Jay-Z, Gorillaz, Absolute Ensemble) provides the powerful low-end.

Ultrafine is enjoying it's emerging presence in the NYC club circuit, having played at The Slipper Room, Fontana's, Mo Pitkin’s House of Satisfaction, Supreme Trading, Joe’s Pub, S.O.B’s, Crash Mansion, The Delancey Lounge & Zebulon to name a few. The band is planning an initial EP release in the summer of 07'.

So Easy

Written By: Lee Farber

Down in the city You know all the people they are pushin' and a Shovin'Trying so hard just to be first. If I have some time to find some piece of mind, I'm rollin to the country and I won't be comin back So Easy I won't be comin back So Easy.Let's get to workin so we can make all of that money.Paying our bills ,seems to be first ,But if I find some time to take care of me and mine,I'm rollin to the mother and I won't be comin back So Easy ,I won't be comin down So Easy, So Easy,.........(1/2 time groove):After the night when we drive out of town ,I look in Your Eyes and You smile.I feel refreshed in a sacred way,I don't wanna go home why don't we say (x3)...instrumental...I don't wanna Go Home (x3)....back to (full time groove) Back in the city You know we have our selves aconcert. Friends and fans will wait for us there .But, if we need some time to take care of all our minds, We're Rollin to the country and we won't be comin back, We're Rollin to the nature and we won't be comin back, We're Rollin With with the Mother and we won't be comin back so Easy ,So Easy,So Easy!

i want to be a chain on that link.
what about all of it strung together like
the entire thread is touching on it self
at all the right moments and all the right angles and all the right places
C:
I wanna be related to you and you to me and, every animal and every living thing and, if you don't believe me that it's true We Are A Family Me & You ......... Seperated by the microseconds maybe miles,it's all connections, touching all along that string, somewhere everything else touches everything else taking it's time for this rule to compose
......Warriors write the written scrolls spewing shards and throwing embers ,,telling cards what to think
It was there and like a blink or two was where it duplicated it self
........... I wanna be a chain on that link ,that can't stop going around and around.it's never been the same twice and that takes me down to the information ......
C: I wanna be with ancestors that help what we now do with the palm of our hands alot like what they found in the news
two diffrent cells help us decidehow we have survived helping us all to write these letters

Dark Cherry:copywrite 2007

Don't you come quickly
don't you run quickly
yanking at these strings close to your being
seeing the view leave you like a train in between
you're yanking your way through these things
where you had to stop forever it seems
it's better to walk than to wait for something that might never ever be real but I'm gonna believe
I'll take it up where it's fallen down but you won't know until it's found, it's found...

Don't you come quickly
don't you run quickly
seeing the view leave you like a train that leaves
walking a long time
waiting for something to change
it's better to walk than to wait for something that might not ever ever be
real
but i'm gonna pick up where it's fallen

You don't know your way
I can relate
You give it away
and you face the crime
but it's okay
it happens all the time
(the time, the time, the time)

yeah, it might never ever be real but i'm gonna believe

(Intro)
These thoughts are happening faster than they can be recorded. and i can feel the old ways being broken. Like there's no reference or index to rely on, no movements to copy. This has never happened before. So therefore we must rely on only what we can sense, there must be so many possibilities must exist with another person even though we don't agree. Agreement is nullification.

At the end of a beating
Comes a new face
Not the kind that you see
But that hides in disgrace
It's the kind you look out of
In the realm that is free

(chorus)
Process like a hallway with no repitions, I remember always the scenes. Oh my life like an emotional flavor factory, it's difficult to taste the now, cause now is a phantom.

I hear calamaty
And then I feel ruled
I seek resolution
And then I see some tools
I live i n a the tool box
and the handles my hand

(chorus)
Process like a hallway with no repititions, I remember always the scenes. Oh my life like an emotional flavor factory, it's difficult to taste the now, cause now is a phantom.

Chase Me

Written By: Lee Farber & Beth Bartley

It was a rainy Monday ,I felt like I could almost cry
You tried to steal my taxi and, then You offered me a ride
Against My better judgement, I began to slip inside.
And then I knew I had You, by that sparkle in Your eye

Player, You’ll have to chase me around
Player ,I’m not so easily found

You took me to Crash Mansion and pulled Me right up to the bar
I never saw Your picture but You said You were a star
Three Martini’s Later & now I’m singing You my song.

Player You’ll have to chase me around
Player I’m not so easily found

It started out as random
enticing Me to play along
ok Lets Keep This Going It feels so right it can't be wrong
