We have our single Cacta Phractus that is currently being played on NPR public radio throuh KRVS out of Lafayette, LA and WWOZ out of New Orleans, LA. We are currently working on a full length album and should be finished in a month or two.

Uma Zuma has had many transformations through its existence from its origins as a jazz/funk jam band to its new experimental afro-beat, psychedelic, gypsy, rock, tropical, calypso, dub, avante, groove, reggae, space-bop, progressive, jazz, jam, blues, disco. Our music is always going somewhere...never stagnant if it isn't danceable (which it is 90% of the time) it is progressive enough to listen to the development and nod your head with the energy of the beat. Uma Zuma really can't be discribed in any specific genre since the musicians are educated in many different genres and pull from them all to create a melting pot sound.
The founding members Jesse Duplechain and Josh Leblanc are an integral part of the Lafayette music scene and are about to break into the New Orleans scene when they move there in a month.
Jesse Duplechain: Guitar
Jesse is a performer of many styles and has performed in almost every musical setting imaginable. He is the former guitarist for Lil' Nate and the Zydeco Big Timers and is a recent graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received a Bachelor's degree in jazz studies.
Josh Leblanc: Trumpet/Bass/Keyboards
