"Concerts in Columbia"

There are only five members in Boone, North Carolina’s Unaka Prong, but that doesn’t put it at a disadvantage when it comes to intrepid energy. In chasing tangents of jam-rock, jazz-fusion and funk out into the restless improvisational ether, the band has the textural acumen and knack for pleasant yet refreshingly askew melodies and grooves to make many a Dead hater rethink some things... - Free Times

"Live Music"

Great, genre-bending band out of Boone with a range of musical tastes that take experimental journeys in which progressive and jam rock collide. New album “Salinity Now!” is wonderfully all over the place, from funk rock explosions to spare, slow numbers. - Wilmington Star

"Unaka Prong releases sophomore album 'Adult Contemporary'"

"Adult Contemporary” is an adventure to listen too, and there is never a dull moment. The musicianship is incredibly tight, showcasing the true, raw talent each band member possesses. When all of the genres and individual influences are working together, it’s something special....People often associate jam bands with four-hour set lists and overly long guitar solos, but a local band proves on its sophomore album that jams become much more interesting when you infuse elements of jazz, rock, reggae, funk — and well — just about everything you can imagine. - Mountain Times
