Bio
Uncle Donnie plays what he calls SHARECROPPER MUSIC (Piedmont blues
& roots country). Music that his mother would have listened to
as the daughter of a sharecropper in the 1920s and 30s.
Uncle Donnie released his first 45 "Loving You" in
1970. He followed this up with: "Voice From The Sky" 1971, "Heading
Unto The Wind" 1972, "Out In The Country" & South Dakota Lady" 1977
(both with L.W. Brinson), and "Don't Be Forgetting me now" 1978.
He
spent the next 10 years playing bass and studying under blues
singer/guitarist Richard "Big Boy" Henry. In the 90s Uncle Donnie wrote
a Musical, Piano music and Poetry. He started in 2001 teaching and writing music
lesson books.
In 2008 Uncle Donnie returned writing songs performing. His latest songs include
2008's "Where Have All The Jobs Gone" in the Piedmont Blues style.
