Bio

Rob (Big Rob) was raised in Creskill, NJ where he started drum lessons at the tender age of three years old, and started piano lessons by time he was five. At fourteen he had already played on a European tour, and played Carnegie hall twice. In high school he played drums for his church, which has given him the opportunity to play in front of thousands of people. In high school Rob starred in six of the schools' stage productions, and was one out of ten juniors invited by the State of New Jersey to attend The Governor School of the Arts (acting). He went on to attend The University of Art for musical theater where he starred in the majority of the Universitys stage productions. You may also add RSC (Royal Shakespeare Companys Program), and BADA (British American Drama Academy) in Oxford, England to his extensive resume (which is still growing).

Hastyle aka Mr. Rourke (on the other hand) was raised on the darker side of New Jersey. Newark aka The Brick City. He came up the hard way during hard times. But, unlike so many of his peers he is still here to tell the story. Hastyle, along with a few friends formed a local rap group (M.B.I) whose biggest fan base was in their own back yard (Essex County, NJ). They have performed countless venues, with numerous celebrities. Redman, Method Man, Wu Tang Clan, M.O.P, Nas, Mobb Deep, Lauren Hill, Naughty By Nature, KRS ONE, and Boot Camp Click to name a few. Hastyle has been all up, and down the East Coast ripping down stages, and eventually flew out to California for a performance in Beverly Hills courtesy of Tupacs Outlawz. Hungry, and with money on his mind, Hastyle has big plans for the very near future. BIG PLANS!

Ben Solo aka Benny Fingers started playing guitar when he was fourteen, with his main influence being Metallica. He took guitar lessons for three and a half years, in the meantime learning many Metallica songs and various songs by artists such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, and System of a Down, among many others. He played in a band with a couple of friends, writing the songs, but without a singer, the ideas never really materialized. As time progressed, Ben began exploring different styles including spanish-style guitar, and playing other genres such as rap and hip-hop. Ben also played at Bergen Community College for two semesters, playing classic rock and motown covers. His guitar playing style is influenced by guitar players like Kirk Hammett, Joe Satriani, David Gilmour, Greg Allman, among others, and a few sounds from jazz, classical, punk and metal groups.

John John grew up in Northeast NJ and started playing guitar at age 16. He has always played in the school band, and had already developed a solid music background. Since age 16, John idolized the great skills of Jimmy Page and the rigid catchy song-writing of The Beatles which are a big part of John's inspiration and style. He has adopted similar song-writing methodology as well as supplies a range of instrumental ability.

Scuba Steve is the latest addition to the family. While he has not had much experience as a solo bassist, he does possess the drive, and determination to be one of the best bass players to ever touch the instrument. He has played with Uncle Al for every Uncle Al performance (except for three).

Collectively they form the mega band Uncle Al, merging hip hop, and classic rock creating a sound they like to call hip rock. Together they have played countless venues such as, Whiskey Bar (Hoboken, NJ), Cornerstone Inn (Carlsdadt, NJ), Maxwells (Hoboken, NJ) NJPAC (Newark NJ), The Goldhawk (Hoboken, NJ), NJ Performance Lab (East Orange, NJ), The Underscore (New York, NY), as well as The China Club (New York, NY). There are actually too many to list. They have been aired on college radio, and are currently in rotation on 97.5 Elite Radio New Jerseys #1 hip hop/r&b radio station. With all of these milestones accomplished, and a music video The Building in circulation, Uncle Al is well on their way to making music history. Welcome to The Uncle Al Experience, a refreshment to the music industry....
