Howl at the Moon

Written By: Randall W Jones

Howl At The Moon

God knows your’e smilin and you hum all day
You can hear more than you wanna see
Blind man got lucky when he gave it away
All that sick world of misery
Blindman was sad his dog died today
He begged alone hear him whistle a tune
Ol dog knew as he flew away far away
He could hear the ol man howl at the moon

Never saw the sun a day in his life
Very few leave a coin his cup
When will the world ever come alive
To catch him fallin to hold him up
Folks hesitate and faith begins to fade
When you try to hum like blind men do
Not a game that wants to be played
They heard him like his dog howl at the moon

Dare to stray from Iron gate estate
Sun black as night outside the sky
Need much more than gold plated hate
To feel the light locked up inside

It’s rainin it’s pourin the ol man is snorin
Comin to wash away sins imbedded so deep
Tears from the sky born in the storm
Like everyone else we are blind in our sleep
Folks from the street heard that hummin sound
They got the blindman a new dog to share his tune
Might have been elves they’re hard to be found
Feel it inside hear them howl at the moon

Sing til your heart melts away
Keep you goin all day long all day long
All day long hear the Carillon
On and on and on hear the Carillon
And on hear the Carillon

My girls wedding vows were given
Gather together and they are one
Theyre gonna sing like angels from heaven
World keeps turnin Love around the sun

Bands gonna play on a Saturday Saturday
Keep you goin all day long All day long
Sing til your heart melts away
On and on on and on hear the Carillon
On and on hear the Carillon
On and on and on hear the Carillon
On and on

Time to give my daughter to the chosen
So happy for them didnt wanna let go
Know they will love for ever Im frozen
Had my day does it show gotta let go

Bands gonna play on a Saturday Saturday

Never Be

Written By: Randy Jones as Uncle Samuel

Never be

His barstools got leather for a king to sit there
Keep his glass full cause his cupboard is bare
Barkeeps got a cure for every sickness inside
Keep em comin all night he’s there for the ride
Suds he don’t need they won’t make him clean
Give him whiskey so he won’t feel a thing
A drink won’t take away any more sanity
He’ll never be what God wants him to be
Never be- no never be- oh never be

His ol man did his life behind bars
That’s why he s here,” he says, “ to keep what is Ours”
The fire in his eye he’ll go til he drops
Cause the fight in the dog is all that he’ s got
Coulda been a lawyer with all the dough
Or the best ballplayer who went all pro
His soul friend is a shot of misery
He’ll never be what God wants him to be
Never be- no no- never be

Whiskey burns his gut like fire
Twisted his soul like tin wire
Some say he should not ever have a drop
He spins on a world that won’t stop

Says friend for you there’s nothin he won’t do
Tell you how his life got broken in two
Bend your ear with a tear in your beer
Barkeep, his friend won’t let him outa there
His ol lady got the castle to keep
She says, “ A drink wont put that old dog to sleep”
Only the son can drink this misery , bar sang
“Cause he”ll never be what God wants him to be”
“He”ll never be what God wants him to be”
“Never be- no never be- no never be”

Set List

Played at a State Fair in Illinois and received honorable mention a couple of years in the male vocalist, usually a piano accompaniment for about 3 minutes. Have about 10 songs that I have worked on currently but I took on a new job so that took priority, this was my best year for runner up category. Finally got some 9 and 10 ratings from some judges. Got 7's and 8's out of taxi on a song called Your Image, but that's been a while, bout 2 years ago.
