Uncommon Ground is a hard rock band that boasts a solid repertoire of original music and great covers. The band writes original material varying in sound and style from great party riffs to piercing ballads and performs a variety of cover tunes. The band’s musical influences include many great rock bands such as Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, and a touch of some great classic rock as well.

Our band has cemented its presence within the London and area music scene through a series of gigs with Canadian promotion company Supernova. On June 25, 2005, UG played in support of Britt Black at The Salt Lounge. She got her start in the Canadian music scene with the band Liveonrelease, and was a co-writer/guitarist with Bif Naked. This successful show earned us valuable hours of studio recording time.

On January 26, 2006, Uncommon Ground took first place a second time at another Supernova event in support of The Black Maria, allowing us to move onto the semifinals in a chance to compete for our own Canadian tour. An appearance on the A Channel morning show in addition to several show dates at bars in and around London have stimulated our growing fan base, who anxiously anticipate the release of our EP in the Spring.

The band members hail from in and around the London area, and are engaged professional positions in several fields when not on stage. For a dose of some much needed ROCK, the band -- Todd Morrison, Paul Merritt, Jay Anthony and Mike Goncalves -- invites you to come experience something UNCOMMON.
