"Rappers' delight to pen youth Olympic anthem"

AN AMBITIOUS music duo are going for gold with their latest single, which they hope will become an anthem for teens during the London Olympics.

Hip hop duo Jason Douglas and Adrian Brobbey want to inspire youngsters to represent the capital in a positive light during next year's summer games.

The Croydon-based rappers, who go by the name UGC, hope their song 'I'm From London' will help teenagers feel proud of being from the city.

Jason, from South Norwood, and Adrian, from Upper Norwood, believe the Olympics is the perfect platform to unite young people in the community.

Their ultimate ambition is to perform at the opening ceremony but they also hope to drum up support by showcasing their song at events in the run up to the games.

Jason, who works for the probation service, said: "We wanted to do a single that makes people proud of being from London no matter how old or what part they come from.

"We want to do something that highlights London in a positive light."

Adrian, who works at King's College Hospital, added: "The Olympics is a big deal. Next year is going to be massive. We want the single to be part of that.

"We want it to be something people can sing along to."

The group was formed more than five years ago when Jason and Adrian were both studying music at Lewisham College.

Their first single 'Rep Ya Endz' achieved massive success on YouTube with the support of fans from the underground urban music scene.

The 25-year-olds have worked with chart-topper Chipmunk and supported Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood during a gig at the Loop bar in Croydon on April 16.

Now they hope to break into the mainstream charts with their latest track, which they believe will strike a cord with teenagers supporting Team GB next year.

"Music is our lives," said Jason.

UndaSound Featuring UGC: I’m From London PRESS RELEASE

The UK street music scene has been evolving over the last decade and it is a known fact that it's now thriving more than ever. London's multicultural landscape has been instrumental in developing the sounds, the sights and the vibrancy of young London.

The I'M FROM LONDON single features UGC, young emerging talent from the capital and celebrates the unique talent and creativity that thrives within London Town -- an announcement of belonging to a generation that are going places, making their own luck and creating their own destinies.

UndaSound have been working behind the scenes honing their craft, producing for various upcoming acts and record companies. The Instrumental for From London was crafted by Kwame and Enigma of UndaSound and was initially written for Cash / Young Money's Lil Wayne prior to his incarceration.

Aside from promoting their beat making skills, there will be a search for up and coming Emcee's in the run up to summer 2011. The search for new artists to feature on the "From London (Remix)" starts on 28th May and taking part is easy to do, just visit: www.undasound.com for more details.

With the London 2012 Olympics 450+ days away, UndaSound have set a high, but achievable goal. The aim of UndaSound is to perform I'M FROM LONDON at the opening ceremony of The London 2012 Olympic Games and throughout events and festivals around the summer of 2012.

An “I’m From London” Facebook group has been created to ask all those who live in London to get behind UndaSound to support their goal over the next 450+ days! They believe that this has every chance of being the ‘Anthem’ for the London 2012 Olympics!
