Under Command

formed in Nov '99, Under Command grew out of jam sessions in a 5X5 storage shed. Wayne Johnson and song writing partner/drummer Steve Songy withstood the changes of mid atlantic seasons and crafted the 10 songs that would become the debut SECRET PLACE OF THUNDER. With over an hour of music the sound covered classic to modern metal with soothing ballads thrown in. From there the cocerts started and rounding out the band was Wayne's wife Julie and background vocals and Tim Jones on bass. Tours of clubs and festivals continued with magazines giving Thunder raving reviews. The band was approached by an online label and they released DAMAGE CONTROL soon after. Less than a year later the label closed its doors limiting Damage Controls availability. One year later Under Command re-enters the studio to records their "official" second cd SEEING RED. A more aggressive project with over an hour of music and 10 songs. A heavier sound , more vocal harmonies and musicianship build the foundation of these songs. As the Seeing Red session was 90% complete Under Command started another project. A.E. ACOUSTIC EXPEREINCE. More new songs with a stripped down feeling. Fun energetic songs that still rock even though its all acoustic. The years go on and the current line up with Nate Johnson (no relation :)) on drums solidified the band. Julie moved over to the vacant bass guitar slot ( dominating it) . Touring more and more the band has traveled and played may of the major summer festivals and clubs from New England to Puerto Rico and Maryland to Texas to California. The tail end of 2006 the group saw putting finishing touches on cd number five, UNDER COVER and Currently with new label interest They finish up their most aggressive project yet BACK IN THE THICK. As time goes on Under Command has come to realize that things that drive it: Songs that touch everyone. Musicianship that is uncompromising and above all else A Love and Honor for GOD almighty who has given them the gifts to do what they do.
