"Undergravity's Feel-Good Summer Hit & Other DIY Rap News"

#SouthsideSummertime It seems fair to say that, considering the video now, Undergravity's "Southside Summertime" is the best Houston summer song since Mike Jones' "Still Tippin'" in 2004.

It is an absolutely overachieving accomplishment by the duo and guest Dante Higgins. It has the smooth, relatable charm of Will Smith's "Summertime" and the wonky, "This Is Houston Without Being Cliched About It" aura of Fat Pat's "Top's Drop."
You could say a hundred different things about it, list every single thing they did right, but they all spiral back to the same point: "Southside Summertime" makes you feel the summer. It seeps into your brain stem, sways your shoulders and wags your head. It is equally mammoth and small, broad and specific.

"Undergravity Space Age Funk Vol 1"

UNDERGRAVITY, Space Age Funk, Vol. 1: The Crash Landing
Fun for Undergravity is living in the past. Not in the traditional sense where one looks backwards and preens with happiness at the good times. Nope, Undergravity lives in a world of nostalgia. They plug into a world fit for 1998 Nintendo 64 graphics and a swampy Houston rap atmosphere and settle there. They’re so stuck on being part of the funk that they’ve verbally sparred with other groups about who is true to rap's nature. The type of grandstanding that was standard in the ‘90s and early aughts, where name and a rep was all a man had. Z-Ro is cut from this same cloth and on Drankin’ N’ Drivin’ he proceeded to marry that aesthetic with 2016 rap tendencies to craft arguably his second- or third best album ever. Under gravity has played around with these fleshed-out, candy-painted colors forever. On their latest album, their fun explodes into a kaleidoscope of bluesy, elbow-wide country rap tunes. - Houston Press

"video- Undergravity- i dont need ya"

Undergravity is currently promoting their new project ‘Space Age Funk Vol.1: The Crash Landing’ which should be available online soon. Their first single “I Don’t Need Ya” gets a nice throwback visual reminiscent of the 90’s over some funky production by Phil Famous. - RappersIKnow.com

Bio

Undergravity is an upcoming rap duo from the southside of Houston, tx. The group consists of Atom Bomb and M.A.C. What makes them unique is that their mothers were best friends and had them two days apart. M.A.C.s’ father sang background for various acts in the 80s and 90s so music has always been in the household. The two were in every talent show in elementary and middle school and soon started to dj parties. They founded the Space Age Fam in 1998. ( A group of childhood friends and family) and have been performing all around Houston and surrounding areas ever since. In 2004, while in college M.A.C. and Atom Bomb formed Undergravity. Their style of music is a mixture of the 70’s and 80’s soulful, funky sounds, 90’s Houston sound and a new fresh sound that got them nominated for the best group by the Houston Press in 2011. They aim to entertain but at the same time educate the listeners by music with real life raps.
