Bio

March 2011:

Underline the Sky are a female fronted pop-rock band from the South-East of England. Since forming in January 2008, they've shared stages with bands such as Twenty Twenty, Futures, Not Advised, Deaf Havana, All Forgotten, Save Your Breath, My Passion, and, weirdly enough, Ghost of a Thousand.

In the summer of 2009 Underline The Sky were announced as winners of the Road To V 2009 competition. This gave them the opportunity to open both days of V Festival 2009 to a total of approximately 10,000 people. They shared the 4Music stage with the likes of Just Jack, Mr Hudson, The Ting Tings, Dizzee Rascal and Pendulum.

In December 2009 Underline The Sky released their debut, self-titled, self-released EP.
Just over a hundred shows, and just over a year later and this EP has sold over 500 copies. In the summer of 2010 Underline The Sky finished the writing and pre-production of their follow up EP 'Just So You Know...', and in November 2010 headed to Longwave studios in Cardiff to record with established producer Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses, Not Advised, Motörhead). This EP is set to be released in April 2011 in conjunction with their April UK tour. The first single from the EP, 'Stay With Me' will be released on March 15th as a free download.

In June 2010 the five piece set off to Europe to play their first ever international show as part of the FĂȘte de la Musique Festival in France. After battling through a 14 hour drive, in their ex-postal service van, in the scorching summer sun, they managed to break the language barrier and drew a 300 strong crowd to the front of the stage, who, despite having never heard of the band before, were singing the bands pop influenced hooks by the end of the half hour set.

In July 2010 Underline The Sky proved themselves again to be one of the best upcoming bands in the UK by winning the rock category of the 2010 Live and Unsigned competition, sparking an endorsement with Rockstar Energy Drink, and a place on their prestigious music roster alongside All Time Low, Hit The Lights and New Found Glory.

Truly proud of their live performances, on stage is where this five piece is at home, and in September 2010 they set off on their first full UK tour, playing 12 dates on the 'Where The Rad Things Are..' tour, with Who's Driving? Bear's Driving!. To build on the following they gathered both on that tour, and during the 3 years they have been together, Underline The Sky will be setting off on tours of the UK in April and July 2011. After only 3 years Underline The Sky have played over 300 shows, toured the UK, played in Europe, won two major national competitions, recorded two EPs, recorded a music video which is now available on the Lava TV playlist, gathered a large and dedicated following and in 2011 it looks like the only way is up.
