“Under My Skin” of South West Chicago is a spawn of Tony Bartkus (Guitar) trying to form an aggressive yet marketable hard rock/metal type band that would appeal to a diverse group of people. “Under My Skin” weaves intricate layers of melodic and somewhat aggressive music into a blend of energy filled songs that carry you through a roller coaster of emotions leaving a positively embroidered memory of tasteful song writing and a craving for another ear full.
Tony, having gone through several musicians and a years worth of time and song writing, was ready to give up on reforming the band after the bands demise shortly after recording their first demo. Tony, ready to join an already established project received a phone call from an old ad which he had placed in a local paper. That someone was Mike Sluga. ( Drums) A new spark was ignited. Tony and Mike hit it off right away and began putting together some earlier “Under My Skin” material. Propelled by this new energy, Tony and Mike decided that it was time to find a bass player. Again, after running an ad in a local paper, with some luck and persistence decided on John Nardi. (Bass) At the time John was in a band that was sinking quickly reaching for a life jacket found “Under My Skin.” John provided his own type of energy that was a key element and now a prerequisite.
The next step was obvious, finding the perfect front man. This was easier said than done. After several months of searching and coming up empty good fortune has befallen the band. Nick Steffanov enters the arena to front Under My Skin. Nick was the missing link the band was eagerly awaiting.
Looking to dominate the music world with great musicianship and amazing energy, that could only be “Under My Skin.” They are ready to take their rightful place in the music industry and show the world what they can do.
