Bio

Born in Watsonville, California in 1982, Emmett Peixoto (pronounced Peh-shote) didn't wait long to start making music. At the ripe old age of five he began studying the piano. His older brother Seth and his friends were constantly influencing young Peixoto with many genres of music from old school Hip Hop to Classical and everything in between.

At the age of eighteen he began listening to artists such as Dylan and Cobain and soon after picked up the guitar and quickly began writing songs. His talent as a songwriter, composer and a singer began to blossom even in it's most embryonic stages. Peixoto has a natural ability to weave intricately poetic lyrics that evoke palpable imagery into well crafted melodic rhythms. His ability was recognized by Jeff Hayashi, a lifelong friend of his older brother. Hayashi, a guitarist of 20+ years was at the time working on his own musical endeavors. Peixoto and Hayashi began to collaborate and it was realized that the music absolutely had to be recorded.

They began recording demos on a laptop computer in a makeshift isolation booth made out of a coat closet in Peixoto's studio apartment. These early recordings are affectionately referred to as "The Minuscule Studio Sessions". Shortly after that Hayashi thought Peixoto was ready for some real sessions. The duo compiled and arranged a set of songs and teamed up with producer Rich Williams of Paradise Recording in Santa Cruz, CA.

In late 2006 their freshman EP "Pools of Glue" was completed. A five song demo that helped to cut Peixoto's teeth in the recording environment.

Almost immediately after that Peixoto went into a songwriting frenzy and after a few prolific weeks he was back in the studio working on his sophomore effort, the fifteen track LP "Under Roses".

Under Roses was completed in January of 2009 and is now being marketed independently to the Film, Television and Digital music industry at large.

Peixoto recently graduated from The University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors of Science in Philosophy. He continues to write songs and looks forward to making more records after a short sabbatical in New York City over the summer of '09.

Peixoto is also a world class professional Handball player and is currently ranked 3rd in the world, so as one can see, his eclectic nature extends well beyond his passion for a great melody.
