"Under the Sherry Moon - SPOT Festival, Svalegangen, Aarhus"

...On top of this quirky music Signe Marie Schmidt -Jacobsens clear vocal appears. Her voice is influenced by old diva-traditions and its sound is comparable to Hope Sandovals (Mazzy Star) voice. And it is beautiful.... Gaffa review from SPOT Festival 2008 written by Simon Christensen..

"Under the Sherry Moon - SPOT Festival, Svalegangen june 6th at 5pm."

...The lo-fi esthetics is obvious, the songs are damn well composed and the casual presence on stage is charming...
..Under the Sherry Moon is a small constellation a guitarist, a drummer and Signe Marie Schmidt-Jacobsen in front. They also played keyboards, banjo, accordion and toy guitar and their expression was playfull. Sometimes they were noisy like Sonic Youth at other times they sounded fragile like Cat Power. Most of the time it was just all about good songs arranged like playful, charming and experimental circus pop.. Soundvenue review from SPOT Festival 2008 written by Otto Lerche. - Soundvenue

"Under the Sherry Moon, Knox Road Blog"

Under The Sherry Moon is the project of a bunch of Danish musicians that has a TON of potential. They’re working on their debut album now, but some of the first tracks are awesome!

Their wandering lo-fi electronic sound is something totally different and original. The songs are complex, well-written pieces that singer Signe Marie Schmidt-Jacobsen haunts with a deep honesty that shows so much confidence and vulnerability.

Musically the band is almost tribal. Crashing drums and jangling piano come out of nowhere, seemingly out of emotion rather than from memory. This makes me want put UTSM in the category of experimental if it wasn’t for the well-organized and crafted songs. They are definitely on my watch list for 2009.

The band’s debut album should be out in the near future, so check out their MySpace for songs and updates and junk. - http://knoxroad.wordpress.com/

Bio

Under the Sherry Moon is the three great and innovative musicians: Signe Marie Schmidt-Jacobsen (Daughters of Heavy, Paula NewWoman), Oliver Hoiness (Skammens vogn, Joy L, Don't go to NY and more) and Martin Ullits Dahl (Prins Nitram, Eggs laid by Tigers and more) who each have their roots in widely different parts of alternative music. This becomes obvious when listening to their cocktail of genrebusting popmusic containg electro, dub, minimalistic keyboards, organ grinding. The reeling common ground is the smell of playfulness, creative zest, down-to-earth desire for beauty and naughtiness - and the result is their quirky and experimental circus pop. Another trade mark is the truly beautiful and original songs which furter more are are sung by one of the most charming and touching voices in Denmark right now. The band played at CMJ 2009 in New York and all the biggest Festivals in Denmark for upcoming bands. Ex. SPOT 2008. The reviews said:
