Lyrics

Amen

Written By: Sarah Simmons

I was sittin’ on the side of the road this mornin’
Feelin’ kind of blue and lonely with no idea
When I came under this fear
I was walkin’ alone, bein’ selfish
Thought I didn’t need nobody
Feeln’ lousy with no way out
‘Till I said

Chorus:
God take control and
You are the only one
I know I can trust (Who won’t give up)
Thank you for grace and
I’ll try to be more grateful tomorrow
But now just take my sorrow
Amen

I was sittin’ outside on a stoop this mornin’
Wonderin’ where I got these blues, I needed liftin’ up
To fill my cup
So I got on my knees and bowed my head
Told Him what I needed to fill my soul
Yeah he made me whole
‘Cause I said

Chorus

Chorus

I was sittin’ outside of a church this mornin’
Praisin’ the name of God…

Amen

Gamblin'

Written By: Adam Page

Headin’ down to the south-side station
Where I know there’s dues to pay
I pray to God in makin’ this decision
Let this pass if there’s any way
And I know the mistake I might be makin’

Chorus
‘Cause I’m gamblin’ on a good luck charm so help me
Puttin’ my money where my mouth is
I hope my intuition’s keepin’ score
Bettin’ my draw is right ‘cause I’m not
Willin’ to check it down
My heart has never failed me before

There is a song that binds me to my lady
She sings the music though she knows the words
And I’m ready to make her more than maybe
Ain’t no way this time my vision’s blurred
Don’t you know I’m firin’ with both barrels

Chorus

No reason to look back on what I’m thinkin’
It’s matter over mind now anyway
No time for feelin’ sorry
There’s far too much at stake
My future’s still got somethin’ left to say

Chorus
