"wow"

i gave your myspace page a good listen and wow - you've got a new fan here. the recordings gave me images of melancholy merry go round rides in autumn...beautiful stuff. - Michael Dausch (Recording Artist of "Who?")

"Underwoman and the Believers at Barmel"

Tonight Barmel features two musical acts with Asian-American women fronting the microphone. The Sea and the Mother is author Dao Strom's music project. She set out to write songs for West/East, which is part of a hybrid art/memoir called We Were Meant To Be A Gentle People. Carolyn Chen is the Underwoman and her Believers headline the evening. Underwoman is releasing their first full-length album this summer and tonight's set will showcase many tunes off the record. There's definitely some tasty experimentation going on here. - Monterey County Weekly

Nyleau would not be what it is today without all its past performers and collaborators: Tyler Sanders on bass and guitar; Arnold Kim, Danny Sheu, and Dustyn Ragasa on viola; Julius Cheng, Patrick Dean, and James Donald on drums; Albert Yeh and Matthew Fisherkeller on guitar and violin/viola; and Pete Canton on bass.
