"Band are Undiscovered no longer"

FIVE-PIECE rock band Undiscovered Soul are hoping to launch themselves into the local music scene with a gig tonight.

The group are staging their debut performance at The Full Moon pub, in Newcastle.

Formed by guitarist Dave Kent in February, they'll be providing support to ever-popular Stoke-on-Trent based outfit The Cartellos.

Dave was originally in a band called Amber Rising, which he left in the summer. He's spent the past six months bringing together a new line-up.

He is now joined by singer Bobby Williams, rhythm guitarist Marcus Pezzaioli, bass player Martin Cliffe and Andy Poole on drums.

"At the moment we've got together about seven or eight songs and there are more on the way," says 28-year-old Dave, of Kidsgrove.

"Me and Bobby have already done an acoustic slot at The Full Moon about a month ago but this is going to be our very first gig all together. We've been slogging away at it for the past couple of months and we're just all looking forward to getting out and playing."

The band has several dates secured in the coming months and will perform at The Alsager Music Festival on Sunday, August 29.

Undiscovered Soul and The Cartellos play at The Full Moon, Newcastle, tonight, from 8pm. DJ SweetJayne follows until 2.15am. Entry is £2.50. - The Sentinel (Staffordshire)
