Bio

At its most powerful, music transcends barriers, uniting creature humans who on the surface may seem to have little in common. Such is the case with UNDOit, who brings the raw unifying power of their up-close-and-personal experiences as street musicians to the stage, and plays every show as if it's their last moment on this earth. Their anti establishment indie punk sanity is unflinchingly heartfelt and the passionate sound of reason, of bittersweet idealism and a deep love of humanity, set to lush choruses, vibrant melodies, unexpected sounds, and inventive rhythms.

Frontman G is a former New York City street musician who handles guitar/voice and writes most of the music and lyrics. G loves the in-your-face energy of performing on the streets of New York. “If New Yorkers don’t like what they hear, they’ll literally tell you, loudly and in front of everyone, to go to hell and then grab whatever money they tossed in your case and stomp off,” said G. He added, “Now that’s feedback. I wish I could do that at some of the crappy $75 concerts I’ve been to.”

Buck the drummer and Adam the bass player have been best friends since they were 5 years old. Their years together have seen their share of ups and downs, but always there was their music. It was both their inspiration and their salvation. “Music is life and life is music,” said Buck. “And that pretty much sums up my life to date.” Trying hard not to finish his sentence for him, Adam agrees. “My parents divorced when I was pretty young and music helped me keep it together and stay out of trouble. I don’t know what I would have done without groups like Bad Religion or The Offspring. Those guys got me though so many hard times.”

G continued, “Yeah, all of us have been through some really tough life experiences, and so our music tends to gravitate towards the darker side of emotional living with our thoughts often touching the longing, pain and sadness of life. We also surprised even ourselves with how much inner turmoil there is throughout Whispers & Lies. But we are angry. We’re angry about the destruction of our planet (“Set the World Free”), our economy, our country, the loss of life overseas that seems so misguided, the erosion of our constitution (“All in the Name of Justice), the giant cubicle stress farm that’s become professional life (“The Box Life”)…it’s all so damn frustrating,” said G.

The record is unusual in that it lets the lyrical message of each song guide the song’s musical direction instead of forcing each song to conform to a specific sound. This makes for an eclectic record that springs from diverse influences ranging from Rachmaninoff, Leadbelly, John Coal Train and The Offspring to Dream Theatre and Franz Ferdinand.

UNDOit is finding its audience in the best possible way: creating great music that’s true to itself and letting their music spread on its own merit. They posted their first songs on their MySpace page on 9/10/08 and, as of 11/07/08, their songs have been played over 100,000+ times! And the undeniable raw and riotous truth in their music will continue to bring in more and more fans who want to be enveloped in the explosive purity of the band’s sonic art.
