Uni_Form

Uni_form are a portuguese alternative rock band from Lisbon formed in 2006. The band consists primarily of David Francisco on the bass and Nuno Francisco, his brother, on the drums.

In response to an online application for a lead singer for the band they met Billy, who is the current lead singer and guitar player of Uni_form.

Uni_form released they first single, "Roll", in 2008 from their first self-titled Ep. Later in May 2010 they release their debut album "Mirrors", from which we can listen to the first single "Shadows", that can be found at a global level across all digital platforms of the moment such as Itunes, Amazon and in digipack all over Portugal and Spain.

With a room full of instruments from guitars, basses and synthesizers, fourteen different songs went to the spotlight of the album. The music goes from the brighter to the darkest light spectrum, that pumps out from the different personalities of each element.

Because the album has a rich composition based on a lot of synthesizers, they felt the need to have someone to play those synthesizers, and it was when they met Ellie that now completes the official members of Uni_form.

In January 2011, the Ep "Winter Blue" is released, in which we can listen to the first single "Into my arms" - Nick Cave's cover. This is a winter ep to also introduce the songs from the album "Mirrors" in acoustic versions.

In April 2011, Uni_form releases "Fire", the second single from their album 'Mirrors'. And after that they will release a Remixes album with a lot of renowned electronic bands in Portugal and also a french attraction, Arbogast - from The Shoes.

Their musical style has had some comparisons to Joy Division, Interpol, Editors and Pixies. Having also their inspiration in bands such as The Cure, Bauhaus, David Bowie and Depeche Mode. Somehow all this background with the different personalities of each one, creates songs that allows you to travel in an emotional sea, sometimes stormy and sometimes calm.
