Unifyed Sol Poets

Representing the upstate of South Carolina, Robert and Kimbi Mullins aka Moody Black and Kimbi the Goddess are spoken-word artists that travel the country to enlighten and entertain. Their union is a symbol of beats marrying rhyme and soul melting with funk: resulting in something so hot that calling it “fire” wouldn’t be hot enough! Unifyed Sol Poets is a duo that produces a soulful cleansing through rhythm, energy, and creative word play. Their unique talents and special ingredients of various facets of art make their live shows exciting, fun, and engaging. Unifyed Sol Poets blend real life experiences that everyone can relate with hope and inspiration. Unifyed Sol Poets has created a buzz that is echoed in the following accomplishments:
Moody Black was a member of the 2004-2005 Upstate South Carolina Slam Team, the 2006 Spartanburg S.C. Grand Slam Champion, and the slam master for the Upstate South Carolina Slam Team from 2006-2008
Kimbi the Goddess was a member of the 2008 Upstate South Carolina Slam Team, the 2008 Upstate South Carolina Grand Slam Champion, 2008 Spartanburg S.C. Grand Slam Champion, and is the 2009 South Carolina Queen Slam Champion
Both Moody and Kimbi are board members of Wits End Poetry and are regular hosts at Coffee Underground Poetry night in Greenville, South Carolina. Both have collectively featured in numerous publications and books, won several slams throughout South Carolina, and have competed nationally in many slams. Together they are like the Ashford and Simpson, and the Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee of Spoken Word.
