With her signature style of Jersey Club she holds an enviable mix of impeccable production skill and tempered, rhythmic eccentricity, along with her confident rap flow on her Own cuts, that distinguishes her tracks. When it comes to her Dj sets be sure to expect the unexpected as they’re composed with a wide range of genre’s from Jersey/Philly/Baltimore Club, Juke, Hip Hop/Trap, Pop, Ballroom/Vogue, Moombahton, Reggae & more. "Birthday Chips from Strangers: Round Two"

If you came to the first SOLD OUT Candy From Strangers party at 285 Kent, you know exactly why you need to be at the next one. It was so much fun that someone from…MySpace wrote about it! What a relevant article that was. The girls are back with a new lineup and even more surprises. Headlined by SPEAKZ and our boy Lakutis, this Monday is sure to get a little weird. Jersey Club Princess herself, DJ UNIIQUE of Body High, will be playing a set fresh after her weekend of Afropunk. My biggest internet/IRL crush CHAPMAN will also perform his first ever live performance. Bring him a pizza or something. Expect some crazy shit and wish the reigning queen of twerk a happy birthday! Chip chip hooray.

Check out the photos courtesy of our dearest Nicky Digital.
Look how much FUN I’m having. If I did, you will too. - mishkanyc.com

"PREMIERE: CHAPMAN - "LOOSE T-SHIRT" FT. DJ UNIIQUE"

I've been having trouble sleeping recently, tossing and turning, wracked by a question I thought would go unanswered forever—how would Sims dance to Jersey Club?! Against all odds, my nightmare is over. In the video for "Loose T-Shirt" (directed by Cumdrizzle) gracefully rendered avatars of Chapman and DJ Uniique break it down over slamming club snares, complete with fluorescent raver sweats and Timberland booty shorts. Catch the IRL experience this Monday, as Chapman makes his debut apperance at Kitty and Chippy Nonstop's Candy From Strangers party at 285 Kent. - http://noisey.vice.com/

"Dirty South Joe & DJ Uniique Headline or Release Party on Aug.15"

SOURCE: CLUSTER MAG

Maybe it’s the enviable mix of impeccable production skill and tempered, rhythmic eccentricity that distinguishes her tracks, forcing you to sit up and start clicking around for more after hours of unsatisfying grazes through SoundCloud.

Maybe it’s the startling swagger-saturated confidence and flow with which she raps on her own cuts (and occasionally freestyles a cappella). Maybe it’s that she’s a woman in the Baltimore and Jersey club music scenes, which—like many others—have been identified almost exclusively with male DJs. These are only a few reasons why Uniique, since starting to DJ parties only a year ago, has been on a steep trajectory to notoriety alongside childhood friends Nadus and DJ Sliink, members of Jersey Club godfather DJ Tameil’s infamous Brick Bandits Crew, and rising stars in NYC’s underground club circuit.

She’s currently set to be featured on a host of upcoming releases including Buzz Trillington’s debut EP on TwerkOut Records, Tommy Jacob’s “Kool & The Beat EP” on La Fille De L’Air Records and on a collab EP with The Westside Shmucks. Teaming up with the likes of Babylon Cartel’s Gianni Lee, Noms, El Cucuy, Yolo Bear and others on tracks, it’s clear she keeps good company. - http://babyloncartel.com/

"DJ Uniique LFTF Mix"

?Although our Internet crush on Jersey's own Digital Diva DJ Uniique has been real for some time now, we were happy to make our thirst an IRL thing when we caught her at BODY HIGH's annual SXSW party earlier this year. Performing as one of the special guest's on a heavily stacked bill that featured everyone from DJ Sliink to Brenmar, she easily stole the show with her hyper-active blend of Jersey club selections and undeniable showmanship, having more fun and energy during her set than anyone in the room. Having Miss Uniique strut her stuff on an LFTF Mix was an absolute must, and today we finally have the final product. Download the mix now above and give your body the Jersey Club workout it's been feigning. - www.liveforthefunk.com

"DIGITAL DIVAS: DJ UNIIQUE INTERVIEW"

Digital Divas is a column written for the internet, by Yung Klout Gang's Lina Abascal, a girl who loves the internet. It's about young women who (similarly to Lina) have created online personas that have attracted thousands of fans and followers. These are spokeswomen for the emoji-speaking Tumblr-dwelling generation, where thousands of miles of distance can be spanned with a few clicks. Musicians, designers, writers, photographers and more make up a community of global tastemakers and cultural commentators representing the famous motto “girl power” on the world wide web.

With the Twitter name #DIGITALDIVAZ, DJ Uniique was an easy choice for this week’s #DigitalDiva. The Jersey-based vocalist, producer, and DJ has sampled her own vocals over Jersey club favorites and is now reaching broader audiences with her upcoming mixtape out via LA-based Body High Records. After meeting her in Philly, I loved hearing about her ideas for future collaborations with other female artists and her plans to help Jersey club music continue to expand to cities and countries she'd never expected.

Using the internet to meet fellow producers, labels, vocalists, and more, Uniique is an example of using the reach of social media to fuel collaborations, new friends, and snag bookings at SXSW. With audiences she'd never expect from places she's never imagined, Uniique heads up the Jersey scene as a multifaceted diva who remains humble, approachable, and inspiring.

So awesome and a coincidence that your Twitter name is DigitalDiva when that’s my column name! How has the internet helped your career and what do you think it does for the music industry?
Yes I know! I was thinking the same thing. It's the name of the song I did with the LOLGURLZ for their EP on Bastard Brigade. It's a song about the internet and all its greatness. The internet's so advanced now and I think the music industry has changed so much because of it. Years ago artists were more about groundwork, now it’s mostly URL-based. The internet has definitely expanded my audience to an international level, and I love the fact that I can actually interact with them all.

You are releasing an EP through LA-based label Body High. How did you get involved with them? What can we expect?
Yes ! Shoutout to Samo Sound Boy, Jerome LOL, and the rest of the Body High crew. I met Samo about over ago through my good friends Sliink and Nadus at a Body High vs. Trouble & Bass party, which was awesome BTW! As far as what you can expect on the EP... Hmm, you'll just have to wait until it releases this summer.

You are the girl behind so many known Jersey club female vocal samples. Who are your friends in that scene? Aside from growing up in Jersey, how did you get involved? What about the sound do you think is making it expand into producers from other genres or areas?
Yes, I've only been making Jersey club vocals for about a year now and I got involved in that whole scene because I partied a lot in high school. Going to parties is where I met everyone, like Sliink, DJ Jayhood, DJ Tim Dolla, etc. My ex was a DJ and I asked him to teach me. Nobody took me serious at first, especially because there were NO female DJs or producers at the time. I think now more than ever Jersey club is expanding to countries we never expected it to and I think it's so dope. I'm kinda still in shock.

You’ve mentioned to be how much you’d love to work on a girl-centric project. Who are some girls in the industry you respect and would like to put on? What do you see as the advantages and disadvantages as a girl in music?
Yes, I do have some things planned for the near future that I'm so excited about! Being a female in the music industry is such a challenge sometimes. I feel like you’re judged more based on your image rather than your talent sometimes, but since there isn't that many female producers/ DJs, I think that makes me stand out. As far females in this industry that have my respect, Gun$ Garcia is awesome and I look up to her, as well as Venus X. I adore Azealia Banks, my girl Chippy Nonstop [check here as Chippy lists her five guilty pleasures – Ed.], Grimes, L.A, Sasha Go Hard, Pink Dollaz... Ugh, too many to name! I also have a song in the work with Harajuku Cookie and Juicy Jas, who are female vocalists from Jersey, like myself. I produced it as well, it's debuting on the #TOP8 compilation in late May.

Right now so many people of all sexes, races, orientations, and styles are gaining acclaim they deserve because the internet has allowed them to reach their niche audience. Do you think that applies to you? Who listens to Uniique?
I don't think this applies to me because my audience expanded beyond my niche. I have a diverse audience that doesn't fit into any mold.

What do you do day to day?
On an average day I'm working on my craft, whether it's producing something or recording. I have lots of - http://www.frank151.com/

"Uniique – No New Friends Jersey Club Remix"

DJ Uniique just blessed our ears with an amazing tune. Listen up as she puts her touches on Drake’s latest banger No New Friends (Jersey Club Remix). - http://thelurkgawds.com/

"Amanda please don’t take my man. Although you know that you can Jersey Club x Amanda Bynes x Ryan Hemsworth x Katy B"

Amanda please don’t take my man. Although you know that you can

Jersey Club x Amanda Bynes x Ryan Hemsworth x Katy B

Only Ryan Hemsworth can think of such a culturally relevant remix. A Jersey Club remix (the new “trap” or hip-hop influenced trend in electronic music) of The Backstreet Boys (who gained a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame TODAY), which features a vocal sample of Amanda Bynes (the erratic former teen actress and current Drake loving selfie queen).

My words might change in 6 months, but as of now I’m excited that Jersey Club is getting a lot of hype. Jersey Club (or Brick City Club) might have been out since the 90’s when New Jersey’s DJ Tameil made a sped up (132-140 BPM) version of Baltimore Club music, but like most dance music listeners, I was first introduced to it through Dj Sliink’s releases. Sadly, Baltimore Club (or Bmore Club) had sweet spot that was only limited to 2005 to 2009 despite its uniqueness and popularization by Rye Rye and Blaqstarr, and M.I.A. Hopefully, Jersey Club can do the things Baltimore Club wasn’t able to and have more longevity.

Dj Sliink’s history of strong history of releases makes it seem plausible. From originals like his Vibrate EP to collaborations with Flosstradamus and Brenmar, and of course his remixes, Dj Sliink maintained quality control while innovating the genre without watering it down. Thanks to the recent Certified Trap Tour with DJ Sliink, Loudpvck, Dirty South Joe and FKi, the nation has not only streamed his tunes on soundcloud but they have also had the Jersey Club experience in person. The new school Jersey Club has many similarities to “rave trap” as well as the soulful bed squeaks that are often found Future Bass.

Major publications like SPIN Magazine are even taking notice and writing features on the emerging genre. In March, Puja Patel wrote one of the best introductions to the genre and even addressed it’s transition from a region sound to the new big room EDM banger to the next trend infiltrating the mainstream.

This once-regional dance craze has expanded, moving past the trendsetting likes of Diplo and most recently on to mainstream hit-makers like Missy Elliott and Chris Brown.

(via SPIN)
DJ Sliink was approached by Kreayshawn via her label Columbia for a “Jersey Club meets trap” remix for an upcoming single. Recently, Chris Brown’s camp has reached out as well and Sliink is in talks to collaborate with the R&B singer’s side-project band U.G.L.Y.

(via SPIN)
I am extremely excited to see the progression of Jersey Club in 2013. For the last year tastemaker producers have been making Jersey Club mixes like Doubel Dutch’s “Slow Club Mix” and Sam Tiba’s “Jersey Club Volume 3” for Pelican Fly. I can’t wait to see other Jersey Club producers/vocalists like Nadus, K Millz, Dj Uniique and DJ Kiff rise internationally. - http://melknee.tumblr.com/

"Q&A w/ Westside Schmucks + DJ Uniique [FREE DL's]"

TD: Plain and simple to get things rolling, can you tell us a little about yourselves (Name, age, where you’re from, etc) to familiarize the unknowing viewers out there?

– JC: My name is Jay Murphy, but those close to me know me as Jay or JC. I’ll be 21 in a couple months, and I’m from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area; although I moved all over the place growing up.

– RED: My name is Devon Marek, everybody calls me Red. I’m 20 years old and I grew up in South Jersey in the biggest little city on the east coast, Vineland.

– Uniique: Well, My name is Cherise, I just turned 22 and I’m from #Jersey..

TD: How did you guys all wind up joining forces to become ‘Westside Schmucks’?

– RED: JC and I met freshman year of highschool. He saw I was getting bullied and started shoving people in lockers for me. Since then we’ve been pretty tight!

– JC: Red and I met in high school and have always been tight since then, but Westside Schmucks came about 2 years ago when I approached him to start producing music with me. We got the name Westside Schmcks from watching the show “Curb Your Enthusiasm” while we were in West Philly at Red’s old spot.

TD: What sort of influences pushed you guys in the direction of producing the kind of music you do today?

– JC/RED: We both come from 2 completely different musical backgrounds, red with classical training, and me growing up around the dirty south hip-hop movement, into our teenage years listening to hardcore, progressive and pop punk bands. As far as club music goes, i have always had a love for it. With relatives and older friends of mine bumping hard trance and euro house in the early 2000's, i started to fall in love with different electronic sounds.

– Uniique: I think my parent’s putting me in dance class at young age definitely influenced me. I was really into Dipset, Beyonce and Club Music but in dance we listened to classical music.

TD: This has become a pretty standard question of ours, what kind of equipment/software do you sit down with to produce in the studio? What about in a live show setting?

– RED: Honestly all we use is Ableton and some gnarly plug-ins like FM8, Massive, Predator, Albino, Surge, etc. For live we prefer Pioneer CDJ 2000’s and a DJM 800.

– JC: In the studio, our basic setup just consists of 2 rokit krk 5's, monitors, a basic subwoofer, my laptop with ableton, a bunch of plugins and customized patches that we both made, and mostly just samples we find in places where others usually don’t think to look. We’re looking to buy more hardware (synthesizers, etc.). For live shows we’re running off serato and usually any industry standard setup (technics or pioneer cdjs & mixer), but we’re currently looking to take things a little further and convert to using only cds/usbs. Saves the hassle of changeovers and makes things a little more interesting!

TD: What are a few things you guys could be found biding your time with aside from churning out trunk dumpin’ club music?

– Uniique: Umm I’m either lurking the streets of New York 9 times out of 10 heading to turn up at a party, chilling with my friends, or doing other music related stuff.. I’m a workaholic. So it’s rare that I’m never not workin’.

– JC: If i’m not feeling inspired, I don’t try and force anything out. I’ve learned over time that it can be very ineffective and a waste of time. Instead of banging your head against your desk it’s better just to let ideas come to you naturally. It usually happens when i’m focused on something completely unrelated to music, random things like watching a hockey game, going out to eat somewhere, or talking on the phone. Besides music, you can find me trolling blogs, watching horror flicks with my girlfriend CJ Milli (who is also a DJ) ,hanging out in various hot spots in Philly, and as of lately, I’ve been playing a lot of challenging iphone games lol ,a healthy mind is key to creative a mind.

– RED: I teach guitar lessons at a little music shop on Landis Ave. in Vineland called Music Central. Honestly some of the greatest musicians I’ve ever heard have come out of this shop. The Teachers I have the privilege of working with have jammed with people such as Gene Krupa, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Philadelphia Jerry Ricks, Steve Vai, Victor Wooten, the list goes on. Soooo much talent can be found in this little shop.

TD: Last time you were in the studio?

– RED: Wednesday. Haha

– Uniique: Last Night

– JC: Right now.

TD: Last time you attended a show you didn’t play?

– RED: New Years Eve, saw a bunch of live Jam bands at the Troc in Philly.

– JC: Our good friend Drop The Lime just came through town with Nadastrom & Switch not too long ago, we always have a great time with that dude. Its always good to go hangout with friends at parties/events they play, gives you an opportunity to have some gets your mind off work and at the same time gives you time to observe the music scene from another perspective, it can be r - thedankles.com

"We Got That Ass ! Inside The World Of Jersey Club"

Behind the two folding tables that serve as a makeshift DJ booth tonight, hugs and daps are as frequent an occurrence as the blunts being rolled by dancers out on the floor. While I'm woozy from the haze and heat, it begins to seem like a new local celebrity's arrival is announced every ten minutes. There’s the #THREAD debut of DJ Uniique (Brick Bandits’ newest inductee), shout-outs for Nadus and Sliink collaborator DJ Rell, Swizzy Mack, and DJ Tiga, rapper-producer and teen heartthrob JayHood (Jahson Coles), and long-term Brick Bandit and Mad Decent member Dirty South Joe. - Spin.com

"Tommy Jacob – LUV (Feat. Uniique)"

- www.spreadtheword96.com

"PREMIERE: LOLGURLZ - "DIGITAL DIVAZ" FEAT. UNIIQUE (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO + DOWNLOAD)"

We interrupt your scheduled Valentine's Day programming to bring you tidings from the deep web.

An official statement from the anonymous, eponymous LOLGurlz:

This EP is for the retweeters, dickeaters, hypebeasts, and freaks.
We call it hoodrat realness.
We didn't make it for other producers.
Music made by producers for producers is beyond boring, 2000 and late, weak and wick wick wack.
We do whatever we want.
The "music elite" or whatever u may want to call it is trash/basura.
We've been talking with Uniique for a while about writing a track 2gether and wanted to give her something out of her comfort zone.
The nature of what we are doing is virtual-organic.
Believe it or not, it's not well thought-out.

If ppl like it cool if not they can eat a dick.

And with that, we bring you Digital Divaz: - http://noisey.vice.com/

"LOL Gurlz - Digital Divaz ft. DJ Uniique (?DIGITAL CHERRY POP?/LOST IN THE REALM)"

For Suffers of Rye Rye and Dominique Young Unique Withdrawal LOL Gurlz - Digital Divaz ft. DJ Uniique (?DIGITAL CHERRY POP?/LOST IN THE REALM)Since I became friends with producers and djs, I've learned to ALWAYS take recommendations from your djs friends. I personally think electronic producers have the best taste because you know something good is in store if they recommend it. So when my friend Morgan aka TREEKEEPER tweeted, "inb4 every female rapper is wants to be @IAMDJUNIIQUE", I knew that this girl music be special. To say he was right, would be an understatement Dj Uniique is more than a dance rapper like Rye Rye and Dominique Young Unique. The New Jersey based rapper is also a dj/producer as her name implies and she has worked with Jersey Club masterminds DJ Sliink and DJ K Millz. To put icing on the cake, she recently teamed up with LOL Gurlz to make phenomenally named track called "Digital Divaz". In the track, she speaks "URL vs IRL" phenomenon and twitter personalities. The tune is the titled track on LOLGurlz's new EP on Bastard Brigade. If your at SXSW definitely try to catch one of her sets. So far she has played at Tuesday's Body High party with DJ Funeral and Myrryrs. - http://melknee.tumblr.com/

"Under 300: DJ Uniique"

Cherise Gary—a.k.a. DJ Uniique—is fresh.
While it’s now obvious we’re recommending you kick it to her SoundCloud and see her IRL next time she’s in your area, this post is about Uniique doing what a DJ does best: curating. For today’s feature she brought us five ice cold joints from across SoundCloud with under 300 plays and wrote us a little note on each. Enjoy.
