"Union Sky's "Close My Eyes""

Union Sky’s Close My Eyes is a swooning, melting treat, perfect for cuddling with your boo or bae this Valentine’s Day weekend. It’s the Florida trio’s impressive debut release, and it leaves a long lasting impression. Beautiful harmonies and passionate vocals blend flawlessly with the song’s alluring, stirring production. It’s an electronic pop song with a sensual R&B atmosphere and a rousing, heavy hearted poignancy. The debut already comes with a stunning black and white music video, too. - I HEART MOOSIQ

"Union Sky's "I Can't Lose""

Just two weeks after being featured in our A&R spotlight post, UNION SKY are back with follow up visuals for their single “I Can’t Lose” directed by the bands very own Steele Strader.

Members Cory Moore, Steele Strader, and Matthew Kerley have come together to create music that promotes love and unity. With a cool, eerie vibe, the Florida natives have managed to meld smooth R&B/Pop vocals with unique electronic production with great success. The result is a song that is reminiscent of Chris Brown’s 2007 hit, “Forever”.

“I Can’t Lose” is described by the band members as “a story of confident love that refuses to falter through all of life’s noise.” This modern day Bonnie & Clyde anthem is the perfect jam to play on those late nights with that special someone. In turn, one would think that the video would implement crazy theatrics and excessive costume changes with fancy props but the group took a different approach. With collaborative efforts and a standard for perfection, the crew created a video that showcases their minimalistic style, which allows the music to speak for itself.

The solidarity between the crew is what made “I Can’t Lose” into the amazing record that it is today. Be sure to check out Union Sky’s social media accounts below for updates on new music/video content/tour dates. - goodmusicallday.com

"Union Sky "Champagne EP""

Pooling up together stratospheric sanctus spiritus pop sound, at times trembling, clashy dance-trash beats and very meaningful lyrics, West Florida based trio Union Sky picks that up at the best impossible way revealing the matter of life, time and themselves on a new level. It would be more than awesome if someone could accompany you on this trip since their music gets crumbling and wearying to soul with such entirety. - Cloudberry Mornings

"Union Sky's "Open Space""

In just over a year since formally launching their project, West Florida trio Union Sky have become one of the cyberworld’s biggest little bands. Their debut single, “Close My Eyes”, was spun nearly 40,000 times on SoundCloud while the video was viewed over 27,000 times on YouTube. Those are huge numbers for a band just starting out.

They rode the wave of “Close My Eyes” to release their debut EP, Champagne, which was another hit – both in the internet and commercially. And Union Sky have done all this will no support from a label and very little media hype. Instead, they’ve achieved their success the old-fashion way – creating music that not only appeals to people but also pushes the boundaries and through hard work in spreading their music to people.

Now don’t think Cory Moore, Steele Strader, and Matthew Kerley are just another boy band. This trio is following in the footsteps of The Weeknd in merging electronic music, R&B, and hip hop with dazzling effects. It is music, as such, that is intended to provoke and stimulate the mind, remembering the most endearing moments in one’s life and reiterating the importance of hope, belief, and love. Their new single, “Open Space”, is arguably the best track they have written to date and we are pleased to premiere it today.

While “Open Space” opens with a heart-racing pace, the underlying darkness that encompasses the song creates a hypnotic, almost trance-like effect. The song then revs down significantly, almost coming to a full stop in its middle portion. You’re left breathless, awaiting for the plot to unfold in the love affair. And even during the song’s climatic finish, we’re left wondering what has happened. In just over four minutes, we are taken from a state of ecstasy to one of confusion to one of cautious hope. This talent to produce such contrasting feelings in a short amount of time is a talent only a few artists have mastered, and it is why Union Sky will soon be among electronic-R&B’s biggest acts in the coming months.

“Open Space” is the lead single from Union Sky’s forthcoming, twin-single project, which will be released on Friday, February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The other single, “Replay”, will be shared at that time. The lyrics for the “Open Space” are below.

"Union Sky's "Replay""

It’s Friday, and we’re back with a new premiere from a group named Union Sky. The group has an interesting future-pop sound matched with booming, sultry vocals. ‘Replay’ is off their double-track EP (or in the old days, a regular single). The song tackles desire, desperation, love and loss; man’s finitude and the yearning to make every moment last.
It’s easy to make comparisons, but I think it’d be best to let the music speak for itself. - Fashionably-Early

"Union Sky's "Exhale""

Crafted out of nostalgic falsetto, sweeping synth patterns, and whimsical songwriting, Florida trio Union Sky mix a feelgood blend of 90's synth-pop over modern indietronica to create their latest single Exhale. Union Sky are one of those bands who pour every bit of talent into their work. Be it dedication, emotion, or agreeable craftsmanship, the indie pop ensemble ensure their listeners experience every feeling placed into each beat. Composed of Matthew Kerley (Vocals), Steel Strader (Keys/Guitar), & Cory Moore (Drums), Union Sky stay true to a sound quite popular in today's pop music realm, holding their motto "We Are Us" as a salute to the classic sound they produce. Officially premiered today, about five months after the release of their debut EP Champagne, Exhale breathes new life into the bands unique sound. The track opens with a rock synth progression which quickly builds into a roar of percussive textures and vocals reminiscent of 90's boy-band harmony. Kerley's euphoric lyrics soar high above the instrumentals, giving the track an atmospheric and almost cosmic appeal. While we have little information regarding a new EP in the works, you can bet that the trio are working diligently to deliver something massive coming soon!

Keep Smiling!

Bio

UNION SKY  is a band and a movement intended to transcend  cultural divides. Our mantra, "We are Us" reflects our goals to use our music to inspire hope, freedom, and love.

MATT, STEELE, CORY have been playing together for many years.  Their chemistry, humility and collective love of all music has been the driving force behind their success as composers and performers.

WE build our songs by first drawing from themes such as:  Romance, Faith, and the Process of Love.

EVERYDAY is a new opportunity to find inspiration for our music. When we get together to create, we usually have a vision and idea in mind but are always mindful of the gems that can come organically from spontaneous moments of creativity.
