Bio

Union of Lanterns is a Kitchener based Indie Rock/Pop band that plays music in the style of Coldplay, Oasis, Dave Matthews, and City and Colour. The band was created by Thomas Lantern, who is guitarist, vocalist, and chief songwriter of the band. Scott wrote the band’s first album, “Truth (If You Want It)”, which was released in 2007.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by Lantern, with help from fellow band mate Darren Watts (harmony vocals, guitar), the album has been well-received locally, getting airplay on both 88.3 CJIQ FM, and 100.3 CKMS FM. “Truth” was the #1 album on CKMS 100.3 for the month of March, and #2 overall for the month of February!

The album has been praised by fans, and local venues and DJs for it’s high production values, as well as the quality of the song writing and use of harmonies.

The band has been playing shows as an acoustic duo and as a four-piece around the Waterloo Region, playing venues such as the Boathouse in Kitchener, Molly Bloom's in Stratford. The band also plays a number of charity shows, including Waterloo Oxford's Relay for Life, and a benefit for a youth in Tavistock who suffered a stroke and other health complications.
