Biography

Unique Beats came from humble beginnings, being shuffled between his mother's family in Reading, PA to his father's family in downtown Philly. When he was seven years of age the county took young Unique and placed him in foster care. After spending a few years in the foster system he was finally reunited with his family and shuffled between homes once again.

At twelve years old Unique was left on his own when his father was incarcerated. Having been abandoned and without a home his grandmother took him in and introduced him to the church choir where he began playing drums and practicing piano. Michael Jackson had always been a major influence over Uniques life and for once in his young life he found a place where he could finally connect with his idol.

Things began to look up when his mother got clean off of drugs and reentered his life; unfortunately the good times wouldn't last very long. Within months of his reunion his mother would get hooked back on drugs and yet again become a shadow in his life. By fourteen he was on his own and hit the streets running. The only way for him to survive the harsh reality of the streets was to begin selling drugs to support himself.

At sixteen years old he received a call that would change his path in life forever. Uniques sister was living in Atlanta, GA and suggested that he move down and stay with her for a fresh start. Arriving in the ATL with a better hope for tomorrow would quickly fade and within six months he was back in Reading hustling in the streets. This time however would prove to be a true awakening when a couple of his closest homies were gunned down.

Before he could celebrate his eighteenth birthday he knew that this life was not for him, so he returned to Atlanta and engulfed himself in music. Not even a year later Unique was producing his first group called Block Boyz. A friend of his suggested that he needed to take his production skills to a new level and arranged for Unique and Atlanta's Superstar producer Nick Fury to meet. Fury was impressed with Unique's talent and spent the next few years helping to mold him from a beat maker into a professional producer.
