REVERE Since United Front Company first opened four months ago, co-owner O-Ry-N says many local hip-hop artists have found a place for their music to "jump off."

O-Ry-N, 29, whose legal name is Mahmood Ghafur, opened the business, which is a combination of a music recording studio, graffiti art gallery, clothing store, tobacco accessories shop and martial arts facility at 318 Squire Road, along with Saugus native Jill Brandenburg, 28.

O-Ry-N, owner and founder of the United Front Company, moved to the Boston area in 2006 and was looking for a place where he can perform his music live. He heard of the Jin Asian Palace in Saugus, MA and decided to see if they were open to new artists. Because of his passion for what he does, the owner mistook him for a promoter and was convinced he should give him a chance. O-Ry-N's music was ready and waiting for the public, so a date was set and it was time for him to prove himself as a performing artist.

During the night of his performance approximately 400-500 people showed up and O-Ry-N knew this is where he belonged.

After the performance he was asked about the name of his company and decided at that moment to open the The United Front Company.

The multi-media/multi-genre company is composed of artists from all over the Boston metro area in a 2000 sq foot headquarters. Managing nationwide show promotions, a rehearsal space, a recording studio, art gallery, retail shop, and an internet radio show, the UFCo is making moves together towards putting that good music into the good peoples' ears.

There are numerous projects from O-Ry-N and the United Front Company that are complete and receiving airplay.

In late 2007, partnered with producer/emcee Y-Not, O-Ry-N started the series of Fame mixtapes - a compilation of artists performing original individual tracks as well as collaborations. These projects are used as motivation to involve other artists in the movement of underground hip/hop, R&B, and music in general. Throughout the Fame series the United Front Company has grown from 3 artists to 27 and over 100 affiliated.
