Bio

American Shutdown is the second full length release by the Orange County, Ca based Unit F. Produced by Bad Religion's Greg Hetson and Steve Kravac, American Shutdown is the latest example of the continuing evolution of a band that defies genre while never ignoring its old school influences.

Unit F has played the Warped Tour since 2002, shared the stage with the likes of D.I., Pennywise and too many notable punk rock bands to mention here. Now in 2006, Unit F embarks on tours which encompass skate events, clubs, and all ages shows, where they deliver sonic attack combined which a show that is always memorable.

Unit F writes songs about the things that matter. Justice, war, individual struggle, social change...these are the subjects that are approached in a way that puts the issues out there for consideration, ideas for discussion well after the show ends and everyone goes home.

Now, eight years after the original inception of the band, Unit F begins to hit its stride...from thier active fan base on Myspace, to placement in compilations, and participation in clubs that welcome the next generation of fans who believe that music matters.

American Shutdown is the album that shows the influences of such bands as Bad Religion, The Adolescents, D.I. and even System of a Down. Under the careful auspicies of Greg Hetson and Steve Kravac, the songs attack - delivering memorable guitar hooks, vocal harmonies and plenty of well placed rage and aggression.

Is Unit F a band that matters? You will need to make that determination for yourself...but if the fans have thier way...you'd best believe it.
