"Rock out with Unlabeled at Lock, Dock and Barrel"

Since their founding in 2011, the five-piece, pop-punk, post-hardcore band known as Unlabeled has been rocking stages up and down the Lake Erie shore.

With the objective of breaking free from preconceived notions and stereotypical judgment, Unlabeled blends modern rock and heavy metal seamlessly with punk, hardcore and bits of pop to create a powerful sound featuring emotionally driven lyrics.

This Friday, Unlabeled releases their second EP, Tides of Time and are celebrating with an all-ages, genre encompassing show at Lock, Dock and Barrel in Port Clinton, presented by Dirty Wax Entertainment.

Recorded at 37 Studios in Michigan, Tides of Time reflects the growth of Unlabeled as a whole.

"We've been working on this for a little over a year," said vocalist Ben Pusateri. "The first EP, we were still trying to figure out what we were as a band. This time we have a general basis on how we want to write music. Each song is different and has some individuality to it, but they flow together in a natural way. They each sound like us."

In addition to Unlabeled, the Times of Tide EP Release Show will feature performances by other locals such as The Sunday Post, a pop-punk band out of Sandusky; Sidewalk Outlines, an alternative indie rock band from Fremont; Funcoast.com Battle of the Bands winners from 2014 and 2015, Ordway and Ancient Elephant and Colour Rise, an energetic indie rock band from Port Clinton.

"They're all good bands from the area trying to make a name for themselves, just like we are," Pusateri said. "This is our hometown venue so we wanted other hometown bands that we're friends with to showcase their talents."

Tickets for Friday night's festivities are $10 in advance and can be purchased from any of the performing bands, online at tickets.national-acts.com or $15 at the door the day of the show. There is a $3 cover charge for anyone under the age of 21.

Unlabeled will have physical copies of Tides of Time available for purchase Friday, but the EP can also be bought online most anywhere digital music is sold. - MICHELLE PLETCHER

Feeling a bit camera shy

"With the objective of breaking free from preconceived notions and stereotypical judgment, Unlabeled blends modern rock and heavy metal seamlessly with punk, hardcore and bits of pop to create a powerful sound featuring emotionally driven lyrics." (Pletcher, Sandusky Register) Unlabeled is a post hardcore/pop-punk outfit hailing from Marblehead, Ohio. The band has prided itself on the ability to create a familiar, yet unique sound. They pull from influences in all styles of rock/metal/punk to create their song structure, of which no two are the same.  Their songs have been described as emotionally driven, combining a mix of powerful, post hardcore riffs and catchy hooks. The lyrical content is centered around bringing hope to those lost within our fast paced, and at times, cruel and harsh world. Unlabeled's subgenre could be depicted as moticore/motipunk (motivational hardcore/motivational punk).

Unlabeled has earned a reputation across Ohio and the Midwest for their loud, energetic shows that focus on crowd interaction. The band shared the stage with the likes of Pop Evil, Adelitas Way, From Ashes to New, SayWeCanFly, Saliva, Saving Abel, Smile Empty Soul, Tantric, Rehab, Seven Mary Three and many other talented bands in all genres. Unlabeled has also been featured on Detroit's 89x FM "The Only New Rock Alternative, Columbus's 99.7 FM "The Blitz" and 100.7 FM Toledo's "Zone" whom has also recorded an exclusive interview with the band.
