Bio

"We were all 16 when the band as freshmen in high school was formed". Influenced by bands such as Blink-182, Cartel, and Jimmy Eat World, Unlikely Hero started finding their own sound while they wrote songs and began playing local shows. It wasn't long until the single off the debut album "What She Said" titled "Come On" was featured on the bay areas Live 105 radio station. DJ Aaron Axelson of Live 105 featured this song on his weekly show consistently which began building the bands fan base outside of their local shows. At venues such as the "Oakland Metro", Alameda's "Roosters Roadhouse", and the "Concord Pavilion" you could find Live 105 DJ's including Axelson, plus a wide variety of ages. Having made appearances in elementary, middle, and high schools, the bands following grew in all ages. In 2008, the band announced they'd be playing their final show as members were moving away to college. The final show held in their hometown sold out hours before the doors opened, as attendants found a line of kids around the block waiting to see Unlikely Hero take the stage together one last time. The event was so popular, it was advertised in several local newspapers including the "San Francisco Chronicle", "Castro Valley Forum", and the "San Leandro Times". In early 2011, the band announced their reformation and new record. "We were shocked people still cared about us". And once again, the local music scene seems to be coming back to life long with pop punks, Unlikely Hero.
