UNLTD

UNLTD is an acronym for “U Never Lose The Dream.” This moniker cannot be 
reduced to a simple attempt at cleverness, rather, it represents a 
fundamental ideal that has driven the group forward. Like everyone, the 
individuals of this group have had their ups and downs; unlike everyone, 
they have chosen to deal with those ups and downs through an artistic 
expression of poetry and storytelling over hip hop beats. Fifteen years 
of writing and recording have produced a well rounded and experienced 
group of artists who continue to share their music and ideas with the 
world.

Stylistically speaking, the group connects present-day sounds of 
production with lyrical delivery reminiscent of the early 2000’s. They 
view themselves primarily as hip-hop artists - due to the focus on 
wordplay and content – but do not remain constricted by the subgenre of 
hip hop itself. Rather, they engage an eclectic mix of producers and 
production with the intent of both challenging themselves and providing 
new and original music for the listeners.
Each member of the group has a unique style and approach to music which 
adds to the originality of the music. However, years of working together 
sees the group sounding like a cohesive whole.

The group consists of:
State of Mind (Dustin Wolf) – This MC draws a great deal of his 
inspiration from personal experience to convey vivid storytelling. A 
true veteran of his craft, he has produced hundreds of solo tracks, and 
an album, while continuing to work with the group. He challenges 
listeners to keep up with the onslaught of punchlines.

Amorfati (Pablo Santander) – This MC similarly produces music to 
illustrate his experiences over time. He writes in both English and 
Spanish, highlighting the importance of his Chilean heritage. His 
optimistic approach to music and life naturally connects with listeners.

BurntChild (Curtis Shuba) – This MC seeks to focus listeners’ attention 
on inequality and injustice in the world. He writes incisive polemics to 
challenge established understandings, with the hope of, perhaps, 
inspiring change.

Catalyst (Andrew Dean) – This MC maintains a raw style that real hip hop 
heads can truly appreciate. The confidence and cleverness of his 
delivery establishes a mood that makes listeners want to rap along to.

UNLTD has primarily done local shows (with the exception of a recent set 
in Calgary). Some of the major venues/music events they have played 
include – opening for Waka Flaka at the Center of the Arts, Summer 
Invasion, and multiple Trifecta music events.
In Recenr years they have been adding music videos to their collection of work.
