Unskilled Professionalz

BandRockPunk

Stripped down Punk Rock done with youthful, energenic, crowd pleasers... With lots of crude humor!

Biography

Formed in spring of 2008, Unskilled Professionalz is a three piece band based in Springfield, VA. Jay and Eugene began jamming and forming the beginnings of the band in June of 2007, but it wasn't until they found the dynamic drumming of Chris in 2008 that the full trio was formed.

The closest genre to associate UPz with is punk rock although their music reaches out into many different genres such as jazz, grunge, hardcore, metal, and so on. Although the inability to describe ourselves is what makes us different; we like to write songs we enjoy and don't worry about fitting into a genre, making the sound unique and diverse.

A wide range of bands bring inspiration such as Nirvana, Tool, The Casualties, Anti-Flag, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, and many more. Mix the songs in with an amazing high energy live show and you have a very special sound that maintains the genuine feelings of Rock.

Big Machine

Written By: Eugene Hamrick

Got my head spinning round and round and round
Thinkings got me feeling so down down down
Maybe I will maybe I wont
Maybe I care probably don’t
Gotta get away gotta get away
Gotta get a grip

You’re a junkie you’re a fiend
You buy into the big machine
You’re the reason im insane
You’re the tumor in my brain

Think you know but you don’t have a clue
Your addicted yes its god damn true
Maybe I will maybe I wont
Maybe I care probably don’t
Gotta get away gotta get away
Gotta get a grip

You’re a junkie you’re a fiend
You buy into the big machine
You’re the reason im insane
You’re the tumor in my brain

No way out

Mental Breakdown

Written By: Eugene Hamrick

You’re so frustrating
You’re complicating

It’s a tool you abuse
Like a chessboard making moves
All part of you perception

And she says A-Yeah
What’s going down
He says A-Yeah
Mental breakdown

Complications start
Conversations sparks

Whisper here whisper there
Now they all start to stare
Welcome to my generation

And she says A-Yeah
What’s going down
He says A-Yeah
Mental breakdown

You got me sour
Even though your sweet
You might know what to say possibly some day
Till then don’t talk to me

And she says A-Yeah
What’s going down
He says A-Yeah
Mental breakdown

And they say who do you think you are controlling
They say who do you think you are controlling
They say who do you think you ain’t controlling me

Translucent

Written By: Eugene Hamrick

I feel like the water
I enjoy the rain
I feel like the water
Always dripping away

You’re so concave
You betrayer

Fixated surroundings
If you could you would be glue
Always bound to these boundaries
You’ll never break through

You’re so concave
You betrayer

When I want a drink of water
I know just when to use my head

Headache

Written By: Jena Hess and Eugene Hamrick

I waste away as I sit here and lay
Drowning in a pool no way to keep my cool
I’m faded in the background still haven’t been found
Confused out in space

Cause I’m broken
I’m battered
I’m bruised and
I’m better

Dazed and confused here not much better over there
No where to go might as well stay down low
I’m faded in the background still haven’t been found
Confused out in space

Cause I’m broken
I’m battered
I’m bleeding
I’m better

Cause I’m broken
I’m battered
I’m bruised and
I’m better left alone

Preschool

Written By: Eugene Hamrick

What happened to the days where Barney wasn’t gay
The power rangers were all cool and immigration was ok

I don’t mean to complain and I don’t mean to whine
I don’t mean to piss and drool but I wanna be in pre school

Recess all the time television made me go blind
Before the internet invented porn before gasoline controlled my world

I don’t mean to complain and I don’t mean to whine
I don’t mean to piss and drool but I wanna be in pre school

Bitchin bout the future nothings on my mind
Worrying about my future but im dwelling on the past

I don’t mean to complain and I don’t mean to whine
I don’t mean to piss and drool but I wanna be in pre school

Car Crash

Written By: Eugene Hamrick

Insomnia’s been bugging me but the sleeps not worth the work all the time
Insane seems to harsh a word why couldn’t you just say I have a sick mind

Another decision another incision you might as well cut out my lungs cause I can’t breath with them
Politicians in remission but nothing ever changes and nothing ever will

C-A-R CRASH

Wanna get up and move around but I don’t wanna wake up to the same day again

Wanna get out into the streets but the wallaby in my head says to wait it out
