For about a year now, Up Is Down has been making some pretty sweet tunes. With Nathan Stevenson on vocals/guitar, Alex B.P (Pottsy) on lead guitar, Ryan Dekleyn on drums, and Jackson Rakoczy on bass. They have a few videos of the up(or down) at the moment, and are recording a demo pretty soon. When you check their stuff out, be sure to watch the drum solo video; that stuff is top notch. UpIsDown was formed in Burlington, Ontario in the summer of 2009 by guitarist Alex B.P and singer Nathan S at the age of 14; after undergoing a few drummer auditions, the pair finally met drummer Ryan D and immediately a connection was formed. The power trio continued to push on and write some great tunes, but they knew a bassist was needed. During the school year of 2009, good friend and classmate of the band Jackson R came into the jam room to try out, and sure enough had a strong musical connection with the three. Now the band was complete, but the four remained nameless for a few months after obtaining their full line-up. "When Pottsy first told me the idea of the name UpIsDown, I had a long pause and replied by saying that it didn't make sense." -Ryan. After uniting under the name, the band played their first show at Notre Dame Catholic School. After the show, Marcus W approached the band and expressed his love of our music, and created our Facebook and Youtube channel, he photographed us and filmed for us, you could say that he was the band manager as he soon found us some local shows. Today, UpIsDown plays local shows from the Toronto region all the way to Niagara Falls.
