Upon Your Pedestal was formed in late 2008, by the works of grunge (screamer) Tyler Crowley. He brought myself, Nathan Williams, Alex Goodchild and Tim Murray together to form what was Upon Your Pedestal. Originally, he envisioned a metal band, to be molded after the likes of Bring Me The Horizon and IWrestledABearOnce. However, everyone but Crowley soon realized this is not the direction anyone wanted to go, musically, or morally.
So, after informing Crowley of this decision, he left, and the quartet set out on their own musical journey. Realizing that we had a desire to reach out to people, whether it be those of us in relationship problems, in an abusive situation, or in some other negative place in their life, became instrumental (pardon the pun) in the writing process for our music. And since the major genre change in May, UYP has played many shows, ranging from benefit/fundraiser events, to shows along side death metal bands, but every time, one thing remains the same, the deep impact we leave on our audience.
