Bio

The band with the uncommon name has become a common fixture in the Southeast appearing at many Florida and national events and festivals. Playing a unique brand of Folk, Bluegrass, Celtic, Newgrass and Country music, they aim to please all ages. Each band member not only writes and sings, but masterfully plays an instrument as well. The band which plays mostly originals and some VERY unique covers, is composed of Brian Bolen (guitar, bass), Brian Trew (violin, viola), Rolando Willimann (bass, guitar), David Welch (banjo, guitar) and Billy Gilmore (mandolin, dobro, fiddle, banjo and guitar). This collective group of diverse musicians came together as friends just hoping to have fun and make some good music, and has ridden the wave of success ever since. Their influences individually run the gamut from Simon & Garfunkel to The Grateful Dead, from Herbie Hancock to Led Zeppelin as well as Bill Monroe, the Chieftains, Atlan and The Clancy Brothers.

Some legendary Uproot gigs have been the Lyric Theater in Stuart, sharing the stage with Hermitage Green in Limerick, Ireland in 2012, Open Grass Festival 2009, Farm to Family Festival 2010-2012, Springfest 2012, Hickory Fest 2011, Founders Day 2011, Pig out in the Park 2010-2013, Delray Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2010, Lauderdale by the Sea St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2008-2013 and the list goes on and on.... They also had the pleasure of opening up for the Charlie Daniels Band this last year. The Lads also have their annual tour of Ireland which is a truly magical place for the Hootenanny. They have been there as a group for the past four years and it gets better every time they set foot in the Emerald Isle.
