Upsidedowntown is a 3-piece rock band from Edmonton, Canada. Formed in May 2012 by long time friends and band mates Aaron Formaniuk (Within the Ashes, The Smokers,Dethod), Jackson Vasicek (The Smokers, Dethod, Haunted Addicts) and Tabetha Rae, the trio released their first EP "Car" the next spring. In August 2014 Upsidedowntown went on a brief hiatus as Vasicek took a short European vacation, during which time Rae departed the band. Upon Vasicek's return Upsidedowntown picked up Scott Bartlett (Smokin Pistols, Andy Traxx Band, Johnson from Accounting, Lady Chamberlain) on bass.
Upsidedowntown plays a unique brand of Canadian Rock, having shared band influences suchas Sloan, Big Wreck, Big Sugar, Tragically Hip, Neil Young and Nirvana. As musicians, band members cite JimmyPage, Dean deLeo, Jon Bonham, Dave Grohl, Mike Dirnt and Geezer Butler as defining their individual sound.
Upsidedowntown's sophomore release 'Car ...too', produced by Jeff Quinn (Stop Light Signal, Within the Ashes, Posy Johnston), was released on June 30, 2016.
