URBAN LEGACY BIOGRAPHY
Urban Legacy, south Auckland’s hottest male vocal,
A uniquely talented young entertainment group has hit the urban music scene with their soulful versions, funk, reggae, and those memorable Motown greatest hits.
The versatility of Urban Legacy has built a strong following from audience’s young and old. They formed their trio in 2010 as students of Papakura High School music class, which then led the group to enter into their first competition, “Stand Up, Stand Out” winning 1st prize overall as the best band and vocal group performance in the Auckland District of secondary schools. Their success launched the trio into a frenzy of local gigs, Urban Legacy then secured a recording deal with” OMAC Studio’s” one of South side’s renowned recording studios responsible for launching some of Auckland’s Famous entertainers such as Sweet n Irie, Three Houses Down, Fiji ” The Consorts,” Che fu, and many more to name a few…

As Urban Legacy's name Grew, Urban Legacy performed at West Auckland’s 2010 ‘Christmas in the Park” giving a stunning renditions of “Come on Over (Fiji)” “Be my Wife”(Rebel Souljahz) and ultimately adding a cultural twist to the trio’s image with their version of “Te Rina” Remake from "Prince Tui Teka" .
2011, Urban Legacy introduced a new member to the group adding to their soulful harmonies and the increased versatility of their repertoire. The music industry has become the platform for which Urban Legacy has now built their reputation upon moving their careers to new heights as successful young entertainers.
Urban Legacy see's` themselves evolving from street kids to young men that have learnt respect and friendship, meaning if they can do it than so can our troubled youth and community.

Music Style and Influences

Our music style is a unique blend of styles ranging from New Zealand Artist to Mo town classics, rock and Blues such as The Eagles, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Dire Straits and Gary Moore, Bob Marley, Prince Tui Teka and The High marks.
The music we deliver to people is either a message, poem or story with the passion of encouraging youth that there are better ways of expressing physically and mentally but most importantly spiritually.
