Urban Sophisticates

The Urban Sophisticates have that unmatched hip-hop live sound that made them “the best unsigned band in the southeast” (Billboard.) Currently recording their fourth LP, they’ve played colleges and clubs up and down the east coast and have shared the stage with KRS One, Talib Kwali, Arrested Development, Sean Kingston, and Lela James.
The energy and diversity of the group makes this a must-see show. The songs are crafted by Interscope producer/lead man Benton James and his brother Aaron, and are based on the idea that hip hop needed more class. The James brothers teamed up with trumpeter Jeremy Denman, drummer Romondo Jessup and a stand-out horn section, to create a sound that is completely unique.
From the Summer Fest in Okinawa to the showcase stage at SXSW, Urban is a global band with a big sound. Like the title of Urban’s last release this band truly creates “Classic Material.”
