"A review of Urban Sun's EP"

It’s as if Urban Sun were at once possessed by the soulful stylings of Parliament Funkadelic and the pop sensibility of songwriters for Christina Aguilera. Gorgeous vocals that simultaneously range from Stevie Wonder to Jeff Buckley, put American Idol contestants to certain, immediate, and completely justifiable shame. Extremely catchy pop-rock melodies with ample R&B tinged vocal stylings, some Latin guitar flourishes (courtesy of former Cro-Mag Rob Buckley), and solid yet sensitive percussion...appeal to any audience. Yet the band manages to offer all this without overcomplicating things.

The M60 Sessions (2004) is an 8 song EP showcasing the band's multi-faceted style, with influences ranging from Motown to metal. Look for new studio and live recordings to be released soon!

Urban Sun has been funkin' it up in NYC since 2003, and its current lineup is on fire, packing the dance floor at such hot-spot venues as the Knitting Factory, Lion's Den and Arlene's Grocery. Led by the soulful vocals of singers Joe Trombino and Anna G, the screaming leads of guitarist Rob Buckley, the funky comps of keyboardist Rich Formidoni and backed up by the non-stop-heart-pounding-booty-shakin rhythm section of percussionist Theo Moore, drummer Lex Dunbar and bassist Zach Abramson, Urban Sun is sure to get heads bobbing and hips moving.
