Bio

Not many bands take risks deviating from popular genres that audiences eat up. There is one exception to this growing trend. Urban Underclass makes their own path and trudges forcefully on, not stopping to abide by any rules. The band has dabbled with an all-instrumental genre, as heard on their first album “Stay Away From Drugs and Disco” and just finished their new self-titled EP with Scotiva on vocals. The band has gotten their name out by playing at local New Jersey hot spots such as: Starland Ballroom, The Stone Pony, The Wonder Bar, Brighton Bar, The Saint and multiple back yard shows. Also of special note they have opened up for CKY at The Stone Pony and The Gracious Few at The Wonder Bar.

The band is currently a four piece set with Scotiva on vocals, Kevin Doucette on Guitar, Evan Puccio on Drums and Ian Lindsay on Bass. The band has constantly been evolving with members changing and the variety of music expanding. What started as a simple rock band has incorporated such styles as blues, jazz, heavy metal, experimental, and funk. In the live shows the fans are treated to heavy rock, extended jams, improvs, even cover riffs. Urban Underclass prides itself on giving its audience more bang for their buck during shows.

Their self-titled EP was completed at Skye Studios in late March 2011. The producer Dan Skye worked with the band to craft the signature Urban Underclass sound into what people hear today. Through it all, the entire group pulled together and made a product that everyone, both band and audience, will enjoy. With the release of their EP, Urban Underclass has now shifted their focus to playing gigs and getting their name out.

Wherever the band plays they seem to get great feedback from the crowd. No matter what kind of audience is listening to them, whether it’s at a blues show, hardcore scene or punk show they always seem to get positive reactions and people are always excited to hear their unique brand of rock music. At the live show is where the band really shines and audiences can’t seem to get enough.

Urban Underclass fans can expect the utmost unexpected. They'll be treated to bigger and better songs. Entertaining riffs that will blow briefs off, catch the ear of any and all music lovers, guitar necks will catch fire at the sheer talent that is being bestowed upon it, drum solos of life that come out of every orifice, and there will be even more creativity than Leonardo da Vinci could shake a paint brush at.
