New blood, old souls and young hearts come together in Vega, Southern California's latest entry into the world of contemporary jazz. Led by 21-year- old Julliard-bound saxophonist Vega, Vega's unique marinade of contemporary jazz, uptown grooves and Southern California soulfulness showcase his next generation take on the smooth jazz genre.
Vega's music weaves together an eclectic mix of demographics and cultural influences from Cannonball Adderly, Michael Brecker, Gerald Albright, Brian McKnight and Stevie Wonder to Christian artists such as Marcos Witt, Israel, and Res-Q band. Their impressive sound has already dazzled crowds of all sizes. Vega's melodic sax phrasing and a rhythm section as thick as custard combine to give this five-man entourage crossover possiblities not available to most contemporary jazz bands.
VEGA has shared the stage with artist such as; Toni Braxton, Brian Culbertson, Warren Hill, Craig Chaquico, Michael Lington, Peter White, Greg Adams, The Rippingtons, Ray Parker Jr. , Julia Forham, Chris Strading, George Shelby, Alex Acuna, Michael Paulo, Everette Harp, just to name a few...
