“my buddy Roy Bennett (of Used Bonneville) is one of my favorite people to watch sing or sit around and sing with…I asked him years ago to always send me his new songs and it’s still something I look forward to every time the mail comes. Go see him if you have not already”
todd snider - author, actor, reverend, humble folksinger, jam band super star - Aimless, Inc.
"The band's 2006 debut, Onomatopoeia, proves that Roy Bennett is a long way from sucking. The debut is solid alt-country in the vein of Todd Snider and Tom Petty, but with a unique sense of funk and soul."
Darryl Smyers - Dallas Observer
Roy Bennett is creative and artistic. The lyrics are smart, funny and relatable. Their songs are consistently creative and musically superior. The production of the album is great. I can’t say enough good things about this band!

Roy Bennett-Onomatopoeia – The Big Takeover magazine"Roy Bennett..., a Dallas singer-songwriter, whose wry lyrics about the mp3 generation Luddites and himself, (his) music flits around from no-frills, straightforward guitar pop, with traces of southern roots rock and Texas twang, to neo-raggae and lite "London Calling" Clash songs. Like Graham Parker, he uses his wavering nasal vocals to his advantage, adding credence to his main facet- his put upon Everyman persona.."

Bio
Used Bonneville is a piano driven acoustic rock band from Dallas, Tx. Coming from deep in the woods of South East Texas, is front man Roy Bennett. A singer songwriter and self-proclaimed antagonist, (who fights against little or nothing), has joined forces with band leader and pianist Eric Jenkins for this musical collaboration. Offering a unique perspective in the Americana landscape that is usually filled with hot guitar licks, Jenkins offers his counterpoint of soulful piano hooks, not unlike of a Bruce Hornsby. Rounding out the Used Bonneville arrangement is Laura Rowe. A Dallas native who’s a classically trained violinist, adds the feminine element with her violin and heartfelt vocal presence. And like any well oiled machine, the rhythm section of the band is the engine that works to perfection, with Collyer Spreen on drums and Seth Taylor on bass.
