Maurice Maurer, violin, was already a young student at the Conservatory of Dortmund with Prof. W. Rausch when he was only 14 years old. He went on to study instrumental pedagogy and artistic instrumental education at the conservatories of Dortmund and Düsseldorf. While still studying he received the “Richard Wagner Verband” scholarship and was an awardee of the “Wilhelm-Hoffmeister-Förderpreis”. As a violinist with several orchestras and chamber music ensembles he toured Europe and Asia. For example, in 2005 he played as a soloist and concertmaster of the RIAS Youth Orchestra in Berlin in some of the largest concert halls of China. In 2009 he won the international “YouTube Symphony Orchestra Competition” and played at the Carnegie Hall in New York.

Christoph König, violin, combed through the most diverse musical styles on his way to being a professional jazz-violinist: Classical studies with Prof. W. Rausch at the Conservatory of Dortmund were followed by jazz-studies with Didier Lockwood in Paris and with Matthias Nadolny at the Folkwang College in Essen.
He played various concerts in more than 15 different countries and played with pioneers of the jazz violin such as Florin Niculescu, Didier Lockwood and the twice Grammy-awarded “Turtle Island Quartet”. Musical experiences with some of the most important exponents of gipsy-swing (among them Hänsche Weiss, Kussi Weiss, Mario Adler) shaped his playing, as well as modern jazz and his classical roots.

Miroslaw Tybora, accordion, is at home in both classical music and jazz. He studied classical accordion with Prof. K. Olczak in Gdansk, Poland, and with Prof. Mie Miki in Duisburg and Dortmund, Germany. Several music and theatre projects, recordings and CD productions followed. He was on a scholarship at the German state of Niedersachsen (Künstlerhäuser Worpswede). Besides his musical activities, he also works as an organizer and artistic director of international exchange programs. His concert tours led him to Poland, Finland, Portugal, France and Japan. In 2010 he performed solo concerts and gave master classes at the University of Uberlandia, Brazil.

Markus Conrads, double bass, has accomplished, despite his musical activities, becoming a graduated computer scientist. However, he had to accept that no computer program, as well written as it may be, can ever replace a fat bass. Thus, he studied jazz double bass at the Folkwang College in Essen and has played like hell ever since. His gigs led him to China, Korea, Russia, Poland, Italy, even Bavaria, and his joy of playing can be seen at every performance. His bass can also be heard on a lot of CDs.
