LARRY FLYNT'S VCA PICTURES TAPS INTO MYSPACE.COM FOR ATOMIC VIXENS SOUNDTRACK

(LOS ANGELES, CA) LFP Video Group in association with VCA Pictures taps into MySpace.com for an exclusive 30-song indie rock soundtrack to accompany their retro pinup sensation, Atomic Vixens. The adult DVD showcases the first-ever licensed soundtrack compiled of unsigned artists discovered on the popular web destination. Larry Flynt commented on MySpace.com saying, MySpace is the forum for a new generation of artist, offering a true independent outlet. It is my great pleasure to recognize a community promoting artists and their right to freedom of _expression. I am happy to give further exposure through LFPs immense distribution channels. Atomic Vixens was released on April 18th and racked up record pre-order sales and a flurry of excitement for the two-disc DVD set which is available at video stores around the country including mainstream retailers such as Tower Records.

With well over 20 million members in the buzzing online community, MySpace proved the perfect medium for finding some of the world's best undiscovered rockabilly bands to contribute to the Atomic Vixens soundtrack. Were doing some guerilla marketing with this feature, Peter Reynolds, Vice-President of sales for VCA, told AVN.com. All of these bands have thousands of friends on Myspace, and were using that as a marketing tool to get the word out and bring the music audience and porn audience together.

For his first endeavor for VCA Pictures, the director of the movie, Ron Royster, initiated the musical search, recognizing the power and vastly untapped artistic talent housed in the MySpace community. Pulling from the massive selection, the 28 undiscovered musical talents were called on to participate. The featured artists include Punk Bunny, VAGABOND, Sixgun, Dead Sexy, The Shifters and G-Spot Tornado. I am more proud of Atomic Vixens and its soundtrack than anything else in my adult career," gushed Royster about this film. "It took five straight weeks of listening to hundreds of bands, and finding 30 perfect songs, all from unsigned brilliant musicians!

Atomic Vixens is an upbeat futuristic tale centered around eight starlets with seductive superpowers that attempt to save the world from evil doers. The film stars Lacie Heart, Justine Joli, Mika Tan, Ashley Steele, Marie Luv, Jade Starr, Leah Luv, Tyler Houston and James Deen. Royster and his star-studded cast lead the audience through a swingin' good time in this hot flick featuring elaborate sets, vibrant costuming and high-energy fun. The exclusive soundtrack rounds out the sexy vibe, creating a full sensory experience to arouse a wide range of audiences.

Vagabond: Land Of Misfit Toys

Florida’s Vagabond proves that they are adept at creating songs that are both melodically plated and theatrically towered ... combining showboating guitars and mauling rhythm sections topped by shape-shifting vocals, trimmed with modern rock influences and alternative metal traits.

Their latest release Land Of Misfit Toys shows shards of alternative metal’s best, including Stone Temple Pilots' melodic brawn and spirited riffage with Boys Night Out’s drama-incensed layers and LA Guns acoustic metal realism. The tracks are prog-rock worthy and crunchy, being both tuneful and hard-crusted. The music shows influences from alternative metal’s thriving period but the album does not seem to want to re-create the scene, rather the songs show how the music from the past have affected the band and given them the tools to create a contemporary metal sound.

Though band members Joe (vocals), Ryan-Christopher (guitar), Lennon (bass), and Bruce (drums) display no surnames on their website, their music is many things but not faceless. The album isn’t an end to metal music but a bridge that makes modern metal accessible to so many more styles and unites it with commercial pop/rock. For instance, Joe’s vocals run from a throaty, guttural screeching on “Guns N Vcrs” to a mellow acoustic grazing on “Autumn Lady” and a heated angst on “Right Lane Ends,” attributes that are synonymous with pop/rock mainstays.

The swirling guitar funnels shower down on “Shoot The Glass” then turn liquidity on “Echo” and erratic on “Guns N Vice,” but then hard-ball throttled on “No Purchase Necessary.” Ryan-Christopher’s guitar also kicks in with spiraling psychedelics on “A-01” that has reflections of The Cult and gives this number an extra stylistic phrasing not copied in any of the other tracks. The songs range from cautionary tales like “Lucifer’s Lincoln” which has all the makings of a horror film theme song to being insightful like “Chainsaw Logic” which has the sleekness of emo-slathered acoustics. The rhythm sections by Lennon and Bruce live large with mastodonial peaks and troughs producing portly folds along the melodic lines. The songs are abound with influences of alternative metal bastes, arena rock scores, tuneful acoustics, and high-geared vocals. The songs are strong modern metal pieces that go from power rock to acoustic driven dinned with well-tailored clamps and angst-filled clangor.

Vagabond tempers their modern metal guitar windmills and arena rock rhythms with acoustic benefactors like Joe’s calming vocals and Lennon’s soft bass strokes shining the brightest on “A-01” and “Autumn Lady.” All of the tracks are really good with each possessing their own allurement. The album evens out nicely having a balance of hard rock productions and mellow rock traction, all producing a melodic coagulation. Vagabond keeps the theatrical side of metal music very much alive and makes it worth checking out with their showboating guitar arcs and shifting shapes of Joe’s lead vocals and making it all sound really good.
