Cuban based Nigerian R&B/Soul/Pop solo artist backed by one of the most talented music producers in Havana, with Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera as principal musical influences. Vain works on the lyrics of the songs as well as the melodies, vocals & vocal harmonies while Berejano Frank does justice to the music and production
Why this name?
I think the name speaks for itself. Like most people, I have a certain degree of insecurity and being vain is how I handle it. Lets just say it boosts my self-esteem although on a few occasions it's gotten me into problems ;)
Do you play live?
At the moment, I don't do live shows.People over here are only into reggaeton and salsa. I'm currently studying Medicine on scholarship here in Cuba. In between classes etc, I work on my songs (I have 14 finished acapella wise and ready to be demoed) as I intend to have an demo album come Summer 2006 on CDBaby. Hopefully I shall be doing live shows soon when the opportunity presents itself.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It helps independent artists reach a good number of prospective listeners without major label funding. It even reduces the cost of CD duplication/replication. One can gain popularity ie fan base just from an mp3 file that's been tossed around on the net from peer to peer.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would definitely sign a record contract with a major record label whether I 'm through with Med school or not.

Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera
Favorite spot?
I haven't got a favorite spot or city. Just my space, so keep off!!!!!!! :)
Anything else...?
I'm interested in almost all aspects of the Arts. From books to runways to the big screen. In my past time, I love surfing the net (whenever my allowances permit it), singing & songwriting, listening to music, reading novels and magazines, watching movies & TV and of course sleeping. Due to strict upbringing I am not the party type. Guys think I'm anti-social. Well to an extent I am :). I love spending time alone cos it puts me in a creative mood. I hate sudden changes in my daily routine. Guess it's just the Virgo in me :).
