"The Gospel News"

Valanji's CD 'Unleash The Praise' is as the title says; she most certainly unleashes praise for God. Her up tempo, hip hop soulful style is fully demonstrated. This CD is one to watch as it is very appealing to audiences of all ages; we are encouraged to keep a sound mind even when we think we're going crazy and to also remember we are safe from harm because God never leaves nor forsakes us. This CD is creative both in lyrics and music, each track is so surprising that you find yourself anticipating the next surprise. Look out world, Valanji is coming at ya. - Angel - July 2006

Discography

UNLEASH THE PRAISE is a special collection of songs that expresses VALANJI'S personal experiences and testimonies on this roller coaster called life. There is a recurring theme in these songs that say in the midst of one’s many afflictions, there is deliverance if you praise God. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Bio

VALANJI pronounced (VA-LAN-JEE), is a unique and emerging contemporary artist. She shares her life's experiences and testimonies through her cutting edge music ministry. When listening to her songs, you have to take notice of her rich voice, catchy lyrical hooks, and creative vocal style. She wants the listener to feel what she is feeling whether it be in joy or in pain. She gives God the glory for inspiring her in song.

VALANJI was born up north in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was exposed to music at an early age because her dad was a professional touring musician who specialized on the drums. She also comes from a rich family heritage of southern gospel music. Her uncle was the late and great gospel music hall of famer James "Big Red" Anderson of the world renowned "Swanee Quintet" from Augusta, Georgia.

In pursuit of her music career, VALANJI moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she studied music and earned a degree in music business at The Art Institute of Atlanta. She landed an internship at PolyGram Records where she gained first hand experience in music promotion and distribution. Her love of music and exposure to different artists allowed her to fuse a variety of musical genres into one sound.

Along the way, VALANJI has showcased her talents in a number of different venues such as churches, concert halls, conferences, and festivals through out the country. In the spring of 2006 at The Sweet Auburn Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, she was a featured artist on the Bobby Hurd Gospel Stage. Mr. Hurd liked VALANJI’S spirit and even invited her to participate at his annual music ministry outreach event at Wayfield Foods.

VALANJI made music history in the month of May 2006 as she was one of the first gospel artists who performed at the first “Soul of America” Music Festival in Augusta, Georgia to honor The Godfather of Soul James Brown. VALANJI got an opportunity to meet TBN’s Clifton Davis at the “Soul of America” Music Festival. After she performed, he just said “Wow”.

VALANJI has opened up for several major recording artists from Grammy Nominated Holy Hip Hop artist Canton Jones on The Back 2 Skool 2K6 Tour in August 2006 to more traditional artists such as The Canton Spirituals at the first annual “Independence Get Free Concert” in July 2007.

One of VALANJI'S goals is to provide the youth with positive alternatives not just in Christian entertainment, but in life. She has devoted her time to encouraging children to stay drug-free. She has made special appearances and volunteers her time during the week at local Atlanta area elementary schools educating kids and serving as a positive role model.

Her CD release "UNLEASH THE PRAISE" is a grab bag that has something for everybody. VALANJI'S cutting edge vocal arrangements can be heard on "Praise Him", and her strong, soulful and distinguished vocal style on "Safe From Harm".

VALANJI was featured in the April 2006 edition of The Spiritual Voice---Augusta, Georgia, as one of the future legends in Gospel Music. VALANJI has also been interviewed on various radio shows through out the country.
