Bio

Hailing from Santiago, Chile, Valentina was raised in the arts and graduated from the prestigious and demanding "La Mancha" International School of Image and Gesture, where she trained in voice, acting, and movement….all of which are evident in her live performance, in which Valentina programs her own projector light show (featuring her original artwork) and choreographs moderns dance with flashes of flamenco. Her lyrical content ranges from the earthly immediate (EMERGENCIA – “Solo tu inercia es decadencia marcando sentencia la Guerra al venir” translates to “Only your inertia is your decadance, marking a sentence that the war is coming.”) to the digitally absurd (SIN CONTROL MI DIVERSION – “Maquina many! Tu Matrix! Tu Matrix!” translates to “Many machines! Your Matrix! Your Matrix!”). The vocal delivery is at times dark and chilling, and in the next moment, playful and animated.

Valentina first caught a spark in her native Chile, where she won the New Sounds award (organized by tastemaker website/radio show Super 45) in 2007. Rolling Stone (Chile) magazine named her the Best Soloist of the Year for 2007. Several more awards later, Valentina felt it was time to extend her reach beyond the South American borders. Her demo landed in the hands of Lizard King Records in New York, and after being knocked on there tails by the sonic freshness, LKR immediately signed her up.

Not in NYC for a full week and Valentina was already sharing the bill with Public Enemy’s Chuck D, and Mark Ronson protégé, Wale, for an Internet Week event at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Annex. Her live performance blew away a discerning crowd of music industry professionals. The next night she performed at the legendary NYC haunt, Don Hills, where she won over a crowd of skeptical metalheads.
Valentina’s track “Circo Podrido” (aka Rotten Circus) was recently featured as the Music Alliance Pact’s Chilean representative of the month. Her music received the following comments:

Faux magazine -"Valentina end up causing earthquakes in the studio
Tracks such as ‘Caos Moral’ and ‘Sin Control Mi Diversion’ herald a
strong potential of a Top 40 prime position, and will maybe one day
put the straggling everyday r&b wannabes firmly in their place."

VOUGE magazine –" An excellent example of this new trend is
'Valentine Fel. A Chilean artist who with her eletroclash contaminated
with flamenco and social activism is a candidate to be the alternative
South American performer. she is a provocative singer, with political
awareness,"

SUPER 45 – “"Full of aggressive beats, explosive sampling and social
protest lyrics, Valentina Fel is the most logical evolution of a riot
girl - punk almost in the realm of grime, do-it-yourself attitude with
dancehall as a commodity and flamenco-injected defiance. Her
long-awaited upcoming debut -to be release in the next few months -
promises to be a massive earthquake in the dance floor that nobody
could anticipate."

CLUB FONOGRAMA – “Super45 almost always gets it right with their
choices, but this time their choice is not only great, they dropped a
bomb on us.”
