"What's a place like this doing in a girl like me?"

Urban rocker mom and award winning singer/songwriter Val Kinzler writes catchy tunes for the traumatically inclined. Lyrically, her name should be "Eight Ball in the Corner Pocket." She musically redeems a hopeless array of working class zeros in her songs of validation! - NY TUNES

Bio

Val Kinzler (formally known as Valkyrie) is an award winning New York City singer/songwriter/musician and actress. She is a veteran of the NYC club circuit and has toured in Europe and California. Playing solo acoustic or with her band, Kinzler's impassioned vocals soothe and ignite the heart of hearing! Her songs speak to all of the battered women, people struggling with addictions and anyone who's ever experienced political injustice. Kinzler aims for the soul and challenges the integral awareness of a society known to neglect it's fallen heroes. This is not music for the finely manicured psyche! Classic rock meets punk-a-tude in a harmonious marriage of musical inspirations ranging from Janis Joplin to Nina Hagen. Kinzler is a scorchingly articulate lyricist and world class artist. Her newly released Re'sume cd is available at Cdbaby.com. Produced by Larry Russell (Billy Joel, Mamas and Papas, Brian Adams, The Rascals) Kinzler's voice is as unique as her music. She pays tribute to an army of everyday survivors and working class zeros in her songs, granting them poetic immortality in her torch tunes of redemption. "Great stuff! Let's hear it for Val Kinzler!".......Marty Balin
"Interestingly hip!"......Dr. John
"Downtown Valkyrie writes musical mini-dramas with hairy armpits and raccoon eyes. A must hear!".....NY TUNES
